Car cover colours? Pics required :-)

Recommended Posts

Hi Im looking at buying a cover for my Esprit from the forum shop and cant decide what colour to go for?

Pictures of what you guys went for will be good.

The classic green and yellow is timeless.

My turbo is red with gold decals so thinking red with gold Gold leaf scheme perhaps.

Indoor cover or outdoor?

Just thinking of UV rays for darker outdoor covers eh @Bibs 😉

They are meant to be UV resistant and I prefer dark colours on outdoor covers as they warm up quicker and steam off any moisture better in the winter. There are only 4 choices for outdoor anyway, not a lot to pick from!

I agree about darker colours better (also don't show the dirt as much!) so went with the reverse of car colours.

Esprit is white with dark blue leather - cover is dark blue with white piping/lettering/lotus badge

Elan is NMY with raven leather - cover is black with yellow piping/lettering/lotus badge

Indoors for me.

I quite like the idea of a BRG with the Wickens logo ideally in gold with gold piping.

I wonder if yellow would look ok as gold? I think sometimes they used silver also in the Wickens era so could go grey?

Nice idea! I saw some in dark blue with white lettering in a classic car storage place which looked very smart.
