talon
Wow. I've had some fast Corvette's, but this thing will run circles around any of them. I especially like the return of the ZR1 name. http://www.thetorquereport.com/2007/10/200...at_la.html#more
mangel
Sorry to laugh but you said corvette and circle, that implies cornering ability!!
talon
Depends what vintage you are talking about. I had a 67 with a big block iand bias ply tires. That thing would make you giggle like a school girl when you romped on the loud pedal and make you cry like a little girl when you tried to turn or stop. I had a 94 ZR1 that would turn alright, stopping was an issue - It would stop well once and then the brakes would pack it in. The current generation Z06 will keep up with my Esprit in the hands of all but the most skilled of drivers. It doesn't give the same sense of feedback or balance as the Esprit, but it just eats up corners with no drama at all. mangel
Cool enough, went in a callaway twin turbo thing a few years ago and I'm sure that a least twice during the short drive I genuinely thought we were going to die!!!
WayneB
I drove a Z06 Corvette last year and its a serious machine , it felt quicker to me than a Sport 350 Esprit I got to passenger in , but I dont like it as much as the Aston-Martin DB9 (even though its a lot cheaper and somewhat of a bargain when you compare it with other cars in the same performance category.) The Z06 is alot of fun for not that much money, but they will probably put a premium pricetag on the ZR-1 (again)
talon
I'm sure it will carry a 6 figure price tag. That said, I got my 94 ZR1 in 1999 for $40K, so I am sure the new ones will come down to reasonable prices fairly quickly. I'd rather have a new Esprit though ;-)
Jonathan
Just cant get excited about corvettes anymore. Gimme an M400 or Segaris/Tuscan any day of the week with some pocket change. The only vette was the C3 and before - after that they are as dull as ditch water im affraid, fast yes but dull. Gold FFM mayevora Posted October 23, 2007 Gold FFM Report Share Posted October 23, 2007 Corvettes are usially about just raw power and grunt - nothing wrong with that, but never the prettiest of cars IMO Quote Always do sober what you said you'd do drunk - that will teach us to keep mouth shut!
