Time to revive this thread ! ! !     In the spring of 2011, Patty and I were fortunate to have LEFty. . .      These are the highlights of the pictures we took one cold and sunny day:

Good idea Kylie, it's fun already

If everyone who wants the car sends me their address, I'll get a spreadsheet together and allocate the cars next destination. PM away folks, the further away the better

in kellys moms pub they used to smuggle a brick into the suitcase of whoever they knew was going on holiday, it had loads of stamps and stickers all over it. kell was telling me one time how her dad had to quickly explain why it was in his suitcase at sanford airport in the states, this was years ago mind before the mental security now.

I'm in! Bibs has my address!!!

As I mailed him, I'll run it up to Barber Motorsports Park and arrange to have it photo'd with the the great cars in the Museum there (mostly Lotus formula Cars)...

Now... if we can get a shot of Ted the bear with the Around the World Esprit in some place... THAT would be cool!

  • 3 weeks later...
I'll be in if you want to send "Lefty" downunder. B)

PMing now.

After 4 longs weeks of travel and 4103 miles, LEFcar finally arrived this evening. Stay tuned for pictures. I am going to setup a website where everybody that has LEFcar can post pics and publish a travel log - just need LEFcar recipients to send me the pics and a short email of its adventures. Within the next week or so she'll be off to Australia for the next leg of her journey.

*edit*

I just want to go on record as saying the LEFcar has a bad pull to the right. Perhaps we need to get her to Troy or Hilly for an alignment?

I'm back!!! Sorry for the delay, I had to do some unexpected business travel and didn't get a chance to post the pictures. I'll do it first thing when I get home this evening. On the plus side, LEFty is winging his way down under as I type this. I dropped him in the post last week.

I've got a spreadsheet with all the addresses on. As soon as someone posts up that they receive LEFty I PM them with the address of his next destination. :)

LEFty's travels in Charlotte, NC

First of all, we went for a boat ride on Lake Norman, just north of the city:

LEFty needed some culture, so off to the Mint Museum of Art (right next door to my house)

I've got a couple more pics that I'll post on a website that I'm putting together to track LEFty's travels and mileage. When the next person receives him, they can just email me their pictures and I'll add them to the site...

Nice work dude :)

I particularly like your boat. I also particularly like the pic of LEFty on the side, your boat is the size of a block of flats! Have a word with your barman about the collar on that Guinness too! :)

Thanks Bibs! That pic of LEFty on the side really does give some sense of how tall the boat is - 21 feet from the waterline to the top of the radome. As far as the Guinness, I'm lucky they were still pouring for me at that point. I'd had several shots and multiple rounds of beer by the time that pic was taken :)

Superb!

Hows about a trip back to Norfolk where I'll take her to Lotus and get some shots with Roger Becker, MJK, Brian etc?
