All Lotus owners/admirers are welcome. Only just over another year to go then James till you can take the Elite out.

Welcome James. I got my first car when I was 14 years old. Certainly not a Lotus, but a 1950 Plymouth 2 door. A great project car that kept me off the streets until I could drive. Then when I turned 16, I couldn't stay off the streets as I loved to drive it everywhere.

Best wishes with your Lotus. You are fortunate.

Welcome James,

When I was 10 my mum had a new Elite in Purple (Can never remember the exact colour name) and off white interior.I was also lucky that an uncle of mine was Lotus main dealer in Ipswich at the time.

I can remember it had one of those stereos with the mic so you could sing along ?It also came with a tape on delivery telling you all about the car as you drove along.I felt like a god at school!

I had to wait another 20 years for my first Lotus ,and I have been looking for 4 years now to by an Elite in that original colour.

Ahh the memories!!

Enjoy it ,the Elite is one of those classics waiting to happen .Most have been scrapped or badly maintained.I think I have seen maybe 5 "good ones" in 4 years. Very underestimated car.

Enjoy the forum.

welcome james

The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.

where we live ive never ever seen another elite.

my dad has a 1979 mbg rubber bumper roadster i just love classics, they have so much character and passion. you can tell the people who designed cars had an eye and a love, unlike today.

the Elite is very close to the old mans heart. Apart from the Europa Tc it's the car he had most personal imput into......here's an old shot of him collecting teh Don Safety Trophy for his (and the teams) Engineering design on it.
