Aftermarket wheels

Recommended Posts

just tryed many combination in search but but no enough results for me.

Looking for some aftermarket wheels fitted on 1990 Esprit. I ll be happy with 17 front , 18 back. But missing table of measurments, i know only standard lotus wheels 15 front 16 backand tyres. Next i know that lotus using OZ made.

I see here many 88-90 here with nonlotus wheels, can anybody help with info?

Lotus ET for wheels?

Lotus is 5x108?

Possible used size, model, problems with fitting?

Looking for aftermarket, chance t obuy in my country, bcs cant imagine huge postage, custom fee of 4 wheels from somewhere.

in a previous contact i pointed you the possibility to use converters. for instance the ones i use

5x108 (lotus) => 5x130 (porsche). there is plenty to buy in porsche size for nice prices (even OZ)

the nice thing about converters is that they are also spacers.

if you want to stick with 5x108 and cant find OZ wheels you can look for wheels from the next cars ALFA-166/FORD-Windstar/VOLVO-850.

greets rens

look at the wheels on my car

they dont look bad (porsche size / 5x130)

this i know , but not sure

89-1/2 to 93 SE Lotus Design

OZ Ruote 7-spoke

7J x 15 +23.3

8.5J x 16 x 8.5 +30.0

215/50 245/50

it means that 7J and 8.5J is valid also for 17" and 18"?

but what ET (23.3 and 30 is ET???)

I've put my wheel data on the owner page:

http://www.lotusespritworld.com/EOwners/PeterBosmans.html

Afterwards i've put some additional spacers on the car. Looks are now more evel, handling still is the same.

I'll have to take the spacers of when I go for MOT.

Greetz,

Peter

yes, suspension is adjustabel (from PUK), the car is 4cm lower and wheel spacers are mounted (2cm front and rear). but as we all know, the original tire sizes for the SE are very difficult to get, that causes some troubles...

by the way, you are not so far away from vienna, we could meet if you want? but not with my lotus during winter time.

Are you sure you're suspension is set correctly?

It looks quite high, I'd suggest you check the ground clearence o the front and back. If they're wrong then it normally means somebody has tightened the pich bolts on the bushes with insufficient weight on the shocks, or used the wrong springs.

good question, i ve no idea , we ve only checked if they r ok and not necessary for change, but nobody here can say if the setting is correct or if they r correct springs, etc. only what i know for sure, thats car weight with full tanks is only 948kg, thats big difference to paper weight.

Andre - I see PUK sells 20mm for the front and has 25mm or 35mm for the rear - which ones are you using?

any rubbing?

the 20mm spacer in front are from PUK, the rear 20mm spacer was mountet when I bought the car in 2005, I think they are from ramspott&brandt in germany. Look in their e-shop in the section chassis (fahrwerk in german).

http://www.ramspott-brandt.de/

The adjustable suspenion (PUK) was mounted about 9 months ago, till now now rubbing. maybe the reason are the springs with higher rate and my driving style is not to aggressive at the moment becaus of my worn steering rack.
