Carolina owners

Had a great time today. It was good to meet Russ and Chuck and Bob, the owner of the S1 in the pictures that Russ posted last week.

The British Car club and Ferrari club people were a fun bunch.

For much of the time, we out numbered the Ferraris and then another one turned up to make it neck-and -neck. Location was good. Easy to get to, nicely situated with food and drink available.

There was a nice 308 Dino there when I arrived. Suprising how similar the styling is to the Lotus.

Any way, we had the 3 generations represented, the Giugiaro, the Stevens and the V8.

It was great meeting you two (and Chucks' beautiful lady!) today. For those of you in the UK getting a pic of 3 generations of Esprits may not be that hard, but I never thought I'd see it in Charlotte. I spoke with Bob as things were winding down and he asked me to get both of you to send an email to [email protected] Just mention that you were at the event and he will add you to the British Car club mailing list. I know it's a bit strange being thrown into a bunch of strangers, but it's a great group of people. I've only known them for a couple of months myself. Here's to many more get togethers! There is already talk of a trip to the Biltmore, not to mention the Carolina Classic rally...

For what it's worth, I cleaned up the damage to the front bumper when I got home and it looks 90% better. I'll spend some more time with in tomorrow and I think it will look fine.

Of course, the next thing we need to do is get both of you out on the lake for a cruise... Once the weather gets better, I'll be coming to the monthly meetings by boat, so it should be easily arranged!

I see a bright future for the Carolina division of LEF

BTW - I still giggle like a schoolgirl every time I see my new plate!

Here is an upcoming event with the SE Lotus club. I was thinking about going, anyone else interested?

Chuck

I've just added a new event to the calendar. Kirt at Hyper Sport

Engineering has invited us for a tour of his shop. We'll meet at the

shop at 11 AM sharp on Saturday, February 23rd. After the tour we'll

go somewhere near by for some lunch. Can anyone suggest a good

burger/wings place?

Hyper Sport is currently building an Exige to compete in the SCCA Pro

Speed World Challenge GT series. They have a long history of modifing

Loti for the track. Don't miss this opportunity to see a first class

race shop.

For all the details see the club calendar on the website.

They are currently building an Exige to compete in the SCCA Pro Speed World Challenge GT series. They also do all kinds of custom work for street cars. It looks to be about a 3 hour drive from Charlotte straight down 85 towards Atlanta.
