headlight pod shakes slightly,is this normal or is there a way to stop this?

They do 'ware' after a while Leonard. Had both mine repaired and replaced some time ago. I think there will always be a slight element of 'bounce' though as the suspension is also hard.

I took mine apart and added strips of wood instead of the plastic... seems to work great!

Which strips of plastic have you replaced with wood?

I had a pod that shaked, but you could noticeably tell it was loose at the pivot point. It required that I put the headlamps up, disconnect the battery, remove the plastic surround and disconnect the joint that connects the motor to the pod. I was then able to get at the pivot point mounting nut and tighten them. Now the headlight is as steady as could be expected.

Things to check:

1) Are the headlamps tight in their mounts behind the plastic surround?

2) Is there too much play in the adjustable pivot joint that connects the motor to the pod?

3) are the pivot nuts tight within the interior of the pod?

I iamgine the more you drive at night the more there is a chance for something to get loose or the fiberglass to wear at mounting points.
