bee sting aerial fitment whats involved?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone fitted a beesting aerial? I've had a look on here but couldn't find anything.

I have that awful one on the wing and want to fit a beesting to the roof as on the newer models what is involved? i.e earthing straps?? position on roof, running of cable.

Thanks as always

What???? Like this ????

It was a piece of cake, just drill a couple of holes and run the wire to the radio.

Only issue I have found with it is that I need to keep un-screwing the antenna every time I put the car cover on which is a bit of a pain.......

Easy, run it from the radio, under the elbow pad, though the grommet in the rear bulkhead ( the throttle cable, speed cable and wiring runs thought it) and then up to the tailgate.

I cheated a bit..

I fitted the beesting aerial, but rather than run the wires up to the tailgate I also bought a hidden 'internal' antenna thing that sticks up inside the rooflining and works really well.

A point to note is that the official Lotus Aerial is actually the old Vauxhall Tigra one.

It has to be the Tigra one, or it'll stand up on the wrong angle if you go for the regular Astra/Cosra/Cavalier one..

Of course the Tigra one instead of the Lotus one, you save about

You can get telescopic beesting aerials if you want the best of both worlds? One day have it low, other day up high like the OEM ones?

This one extends from 112mm to 280mm

The next one extends from 195mm to 240mm

Also availible in silver

Both
