boot won't open.

i've transplanted this problem from the s-car section. my cable didn't break, but the assembly is no longer in contact with the far latch. people have suggested removing the boot floor, but where do i start? from underneath, it looks like the floor and wheelwells are one piece. is there a hatch somewhere? someone else suggested removing the bolts on the hinged end of the lid, but what are the necessary steps to get at those bolts?

Am sure you are keeping an eye on James's progress with his car. ;)

When we all met up last monday, we decided easiest way for him was to buy a pair of new rear lights. He's gonna break each light to get access to the latches

either side, then fit new lights.

Advantage: when done there will be NO holes anywhere in the car, 100% how it

was. This is how i would do it i think, pretty clean and done from above.

Disadvantage: Having to buy new lights, but if they are old it might transform the

rear of your car anyway...

I know james is on the case right now, and he's gonna photo it ;)

thanks paul. one corner of my lid is open, so i am one fishing net closer than james to getting inside. i wouldn't break the light, if he has some access already. i dropped in a cheap webcam hooked to a computer and was able to see where the latch was. maybe that'll increase his odds of knocking one of the latches. my access is currently from the side, and thus i can only move the latch 90

if anyone is interested, i did manage to sort this problem eventually. all that's left is to carefully extricate the cut up yet still stuck in remnants of the original hardware. then i can choose something better and more unusual to replace it.
