88 Esprit Centre Console

I bought a 1988 Turbo in the UK, in July, and had shipped here to Australia, love it, my 4th Lotus, first Esprit.

But!, but how do you get the top cover off the center console, I'm trying to make the leather look less than 20 years old, so it has to come off.

Usually I can work these things out, but this one's got me.

in my 90, they r only 2 small screws under the flip pocked, and next is necessary put down shifter end.

Under the leather straps on the centre console... there are 4 phillips screws on the sides of the centre console as I recall. Then, there are screws under the shift boot too I think...

Thanks, found it, it's off! Left pondering the additional weight of 2 screws with no engineering purpose, on a Lotus!
