second is that after start the engine only 4 cylinders from one side run, the others dont run right, I check with innova 3000 and is 0 erros, al is correct, but still runing bad, cuz after about 5 or 10 minutes engine runing, the side with rigth is geeting hot, and the other side is stil cold, engine number serie is from year 97 and my car ECU from year 98, it can be a problem? or what posibles problems is it?

sorry a lot for my english, and thz a lot for advance.

Check 2 basic things on the side that's not running.

Take a spark plug out, is it getting wet with fuel? If yes then fuel is probably OK

Do you have any spark, if No then look at things like the coil pack etc, if Yes, and the plug is dry look at the fuel injection side, plugs on etc.

tailgate(-light switch)connector is made of pure plastic and black, without metal thing. What you may have (as i would say) is the unconnected wire that goes originally to the "rough road" sensor[page 10 workshopbook ,picture 148!] (look, the empty mounting place near to the connector, on your car frame) . I have also that cable and it is not connected , as i also don't have that sensor on the position... . My is an 98, so what is the engine wiring came from on yours !?

The other one can be some sort of fuel tank pressure sensor cable, as other markets need those specification.. (pressure sensor is a 3pin, with plastic nose to secure it after fit..)

PS, i love the yellow/black color style. My plan is to update the scratched silver AWI wheels on my car with an black powder coat as soon as possible... .

Ask Marcus about those different ECM settings, as far as i can say he pointed out there are different in incoming signals and pin conections... .

That maybe explains why you can not run with your friends ECM!

The connector near the rear frame mounting point is definitely the one from *rough road*, it has an Bosch type connecting face with a metal clamp. My 1998 European specification does not have the sensor mounted there, so it is maybe not necessary in later versions..

I will look into my RH fuel tank area, as the car is out of race today. Can edit post later with news about your other connector.

PS do you have connected both ignition coils !? And the ECM will set a code like "P0206" or so, if your injectors not connected to engine harness !

Edit: can you post the wiring color, there are several not conected plugs in my engine bay. Some of them are 3Pins. It depents all on you market specification and production year of engine an engine wiring

Pull out primary and secondary fuel pump relays (one gray, one light-brown) (see owners handbook or refer to workshop book!)

then unscrew your "cold-side" sparkplugs, fit them into the cable connectors and hold them in contact to ground (use maybe the Plenum or engine-head coverscrews..) . Now you can start the engine (with help of a friend..) and see if there is any sign of spark firing. If it is no spark fire, then remove the plenum and look if the ignition coil is connected to the spark cable, and if the coil itself is connected to the engine wiring. You can switch the wiring from Rh coil to Lh coil and see if there is any difference.

Next point is to determine if there is any current to the injectors. As the plenum is still removed , connect the two fuelrails together and refit the fuelpump relays. You can now pull out the injector wiring and see that there is a current signal to ground as soon as someone turns on the ignition (try it with a test-lamp, that will work, i have done it during my ethanol mod this way..)

PS. i'm now back in my "Eastgerman Conrete-Township" so i can not look witch color the wiring on your mysterious connector is for the next days... . Hope the advice above sorts out some problems!

what you have noticed in the picture is one of the two "Full boost injectors". They are only in use if full boost occurs, or just as the ECM say it is necessary.

What i mean is the injector wiring for each of the 4 injectors per bank. You can find them under the plenum. The wiring from the engine that goes to each injector has a polarity, and on one of the two pins should be a signal if you turn on the ignition, or even if the engine starts/runs. That signal gives the opening impulse to the injector and the fuel can flush into the inlet port.

You say all 8 Sparkplugs fire well on each place, so it must be something with loss of fuel. If there is no fuel at the right time than there is no combustion and therefore no heat.. and so on... .

Don't be irritated by the type of wiring in my picture. There is more wiring than original because of some modifications in my car. The original Lotus wiring is still present in the picture.

as i said, you can test if there is a short current-pulse with ignition *on* . Use a testlight and connect the pins to ground. The light goes on for a short moment, if you have chosen the current contact-pin in the connector wire plug. You can also pressurize the system (with a attaching pipe between the two rails  ) and initialize every injector separately with "flying wires" from the battery. Look if there is a visible flow (spray) of fuel in the port.

But be careful, i think the injectors would not love to be under current directly from the battery for long time. (it's a magnetic coil in it, that gets hot..)

What is your homebase, i see your car is LHD! But did you have the US specification engine system ?? Not all V8 have an Bypass Airvalve under the plenum and EGR system. So there can be more unused connectors in the wiring... .

hello,

I just tested all inyectors wires and all 8 wires have around 9,20 or 9,40 Volts,

if all 8 inyectros have electricity and all 8 spark have electricity, maybe the problem is 4 inyectros are defectuous or the ECU?

thz a lot,

have you also tested that every injector has a suitable spray-type !?

Or swap your injectors from one bank to the other... .

You can clean the originals, or let them clean.. .

Or even easyer, ask Mike Sekinger, Marcus or even the guyes from "Ramspot&Brand" or any of the LotusForum supporting Dealers about the aftermarket injectors. They are available in the suitable size for your V8 ! You can also use every injector who is in a range of 12-13volts and with the right shape an connecting face... .

Mike told me something about injectors in the Ethanol treath in *projects-page* in the forum. Something with around 240-250ccm/min for original injecors...
