Vin decoding?

How do you decode the Vin numbers on S2 esprits? ive seen it somewhere but cant remember where.

All the other sites need i think its 17 digit number but we dont have that.

ive got a 9 digit vin chassis no and a 14 digit engine no.

I've got the same problem, Mike.

The decoder in the manual is no help because it has no relation to the number on the car. Some of it's simple being the model type, 79, and the year and month of manufacture but when it comes to market such as Britain, Europe, USA, California, Rest of World there's no chance.

I've never seen a full decoder for the early cars. Sorry.
