Tire sizes on V8 wheels

Recommended Posts

I recently bought a nice set of OZ Nova wheels on eBay. Since I have an S4, the 285/35/18 tires will effectively change my final drive ratio. Has anybody tried to fit a 4-cylinder car with V8 wheels with 285/30/18 tires to help offset the change in wheel size? Am I thinking too hard about this?

Der?

The 285/35-18 is 656.7mm diameter

the 245/45-17 is 652.3mm diameter

the difference is 4.4mm

4.4mm is 0.67% difference in rolling diameter.

There is no difference...

Cheers Trav,

Will any of the other V8 wheels run those dims??

I so need bigger rears for my 358..

Jon

Yea all the V8 rear wheels are 18x10, so they'll run the 295/35-18.

The Sport 300 used 17x10.5" and ran 315 rear tires.

I should add that I have seen someone with 285/30-18 on Saturns, and it was all wrong! Very low in the rear with too much gap at the fender.

would 305's fit? Gonna need a new set of tires all around and am thinking of upsizing. What would everyone run in the front. I think its 235's up front right now.

I'll run a bit more at the front and taker the hit on weight - 235s for road use seems fair.. 245 perhaps..

Going to switch to Kumho V series - easily the cheapest wide rubber you can buy.. planning on having some 12.5s made up to run 315 section rubber at the rear but I'm staring at

It's alive.. alive!!!..
