Newbie reporting for duty

Appears to be intact, original (except wheel hubs) and doesn't look like there's any body rust :)

Hope the owner isn't too hung up on "fixing it tomorrow" and will let it go to a good home. If not we may have to...liberate it :)

Honestly though, I hope someone can get it back on the road. So sad to see a fellow S2 wasting away like that.

Interesting it has green and yellow Lotus wheel caps - mine are black and white. (edit: just noticed that Clark saw this too...)

'wonder if the tires are NCTs... :)

Great pics John.

Kimbers, where has this desire to restore every car in the world come from? You paying?

He's got an S4 to do first anyway...

Hi John :)

Nice photos, it does look like it needs a change of owner! Just remember that an S2 will have a painted chassis rather than a galvanised one, and ten years of standing still outdoors may have taken its toll. Check it over thoroughly... :)

I haven't managed to speak to the owner yet, and to be honest after being told he'd been 'away' for four years (away where??) I'm not sure if I want to. As I've mentioned above I think a job such as this would be too much for someone with my limited knowledge and experience (not to mention finances). Its a really nice thought but no. Someone doing their second or third restoration maybe better placed for a job like this.

John, you are probably correct, it would be best for someone who has done one before, the best one for you is a 'get in and drive' till it goes wrong car.

i do not understand the Reg? that is not a UK reg plate, yet it is right hand drive, what country are you in??
