Thought i'd drop in and say hello, im a Lotus Elise owner who is looking into the new model Esprit (for my Lotus after next!)

Have always loved the Esprit but havent been able to afford one, hence the Elise!

We all know red is the best colour !

There is no choice in the matter - Red, Stevens, Turbo....

Prob with the Elise / Esprit is they compliment each other Soooo well it's almost a bad thing. I can ill afford to give both the cars time and attention a Lotus needs and pay for the upkeep, I haven't saved a bean for months !

We all know....don't drive them and they get upset...same with the Elise, it needs attention. They are the yin and yang of the Lotus world imo.

One hand you've got an ultra rare supercar, reasonably practical, good handling, speed etc. Other hand you have an extremely talkative, easy to drive street legal go-kart that is so good that can humiliate most other cars on the road or at least keep up with them (Oxford meet) - the boy racer factor when these bruva mobiles try and race you is hillarious, sadly around my area I'm running out of ppl left around who still underestimate it

It's less emotional than the Esprit, if you stack it you just spend 5 days finding another one, you can relax with it but at the same time the adrenaline always pumps in waves - I find it impossible to drive sensibly. Its the reason why I cant let it go, drive the Esprit for a few days and you're like "OK must sell the Elise really" - 1 trip in the Elise "How can I possibly sell this car ?!?".

Ooh red or black (have a red elise so might like a change!).. Im looking to buy the new model when it comes out, my dealer says that he went to Norfolk recently to see the new model Esprit.. cant wait!

Esprits are cheaper to own that you might think...

...well...

.... some of them are!

Have both. It really is the only solution and not as extravagant as you may think.

Up to 91 Stevens cars are cheaper to insure on "classic" policies - got a nasty surprise when insuring my S4, but aside from that...
