paulg390
Ok guys thanks for the parts ... got two secondhand ones on loan.... trouble is I cant see the bloomin thing on the car anywhere. Can see the air temp one on the chargecooler (grey cap) but even after trying to follow wires everywhere I cant see the water one (black cap). Is it hidden under something so its difficult to spot ? Next problem is that it now it wont start even from cold, but suspect that this is because plugs were black and soaked in fuel after running too rich for too long. So dont want to put new plugs in until have got sensor in.

paulg390
Paul, How can you be sure its the coolant-sensor ? Have you hooked up Freescan or a Tech-1 and checked all the sensor readings ? Cheers Marcus Hi Marcus, Having seen how tricky it is to change it. I'm presuming the throttle bodies have to come off ? I'm now not so sure I want to go to all the expense of changing it for one of the 2nd hand ones so kindly lent me only to find as you point out thats not the problem. I can see I buy Freescan + cables for
rocket63
Paul. You should not have to remove anything except the wire, its a bit retrictive for space, but the job of replacement is otherwise straight forward. All you need is a 17mm spanner mate. paulg390
Hi again ... and thanks for the two latest posts. Can confirm that my local garage has just fitted one of the second hand CTS's and reported that it runs like a dream again Old one was completely US I also just checked the Intermotor site and it confirms that the Intermotor 55511 is a direct replacement for the GM 15326386... which is the part that BIBS posted a link to, so got to be worth a punt.... . Bennetts motor factors sell them for
