brianabbot
Hi everyone, I have a leak coming from my chargecooler - it's a 1990 SE, I disconnected it and with the outlet pipe blocked could still easily blow through the inlet pipe - has anyone managed to get one repaired or have any suggestions as to how to fix it. Or does anyone have one for sale and if so how much? I did'nt really want an aftermarket one but maybe this would be easier? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Brian

Hi, yes - thanks for asking though, when i first got the car the chargecooler tank was empty, with the engine running i started to fill it up and the car started putting out white smoke, i stopped straight away when i realised what was happening - i always wanted james bonds car just did'nt expect to get the smoke screen gadget as well. brian
Paula&Marcus
Oh ...... That means your c/cooler has a leak somewhere in the core inside. Its not repairable, unfortunately. Please also check the c/cooler pump. I'm quite sure this one is dead. You should take it out and restore it using a new impeller. Cheers Marcus Edited February 23, 2008 by Paula&Marcus Quote Marcus

andydclements
Hi Andy Do you know who sells aftermarket models and do they require alot of modifying? Regards Tom I would say most (90%+) of the aftermarket ones are going to require extensive work to make them fit, it's unlikely you'll find one to go on top of the cam cover area, so you'd probably have to fit it in an area that's currently part of the luggage compartment, you could put in on the fibre glass panel, have pipes made and that's it. You could also re-glass the panel to mean the charge cooler is still there, but actually move the luggage compartment away from it (that's the method I'll be using). Lots around, ebay, or other online sites. I was thinking about one of those that Mike Sekinger used. Andy

andydclements
Love the idea of a really fast Excel, and the Supercharge that's turbine rather than worm seems best of both worold, so that's probably how I'll go, and yes I have a spare S4S engine sitting there on the shelf ready for this, although I think one of the guys at MLotusbits has 300Hp in his Excel (name escapes me), I think he'll hav eprobably gone NA, 2.5l though.
