Has anyone tried Lancaster Classic car. I have used them befor and very good and cheap. I had a quote last week even tho the car will not be used for some time due to the rebuild. I am 28 declared one years no claims. Have a company car and a chauffeur business also on the side of my day job. They quoted comprehensive with 3000 mile limit which you can extend. 250 excess and agreed value of 7500K as not sure till its finished what shes worth so thought it would be a good price.

This was the first time I've insured this kind of car so was pleasantly surprised. I got a few quotes including Adrian Flux but Footman James provided both the best price and best overall cover. I also looked at using it solely for SD&P and they wanted

I have just had a quote from a company in South Africa to insure my collection.

As they realise that I can only drive one car at a time they have made a special price.

Fully comprehensive on each Lotus Esprit Turbo is 35 pounds a year. The car may not be used for business or using to and from work and is limited to 10 000 kms a year.

The Ferrari Mondial 3.2 QV is a little more expensive at 125 pounds per annum and the quotes are for fully comprehensive.

Eat your hearts out.

Have AAA here in So Cal. price includes multiple discounts;

Home owners insurance policy discount

Multi-car discount

good driver

anti-theft, garage parked, etc.

5K-7500 miles annual

300K Liability, 500K medical

ACV (actual cash value) which I'm not hot on.

Pleasure use.

32y/o M single no tickets/accidents

price is just shy of $1600/yr.

Could expect significantly lower premium if I dropped policy coverage amounts, but rather have too much than not enough!

This one will knock your socks off - I'm paying AU$8,500/year (5,000quid) to insure the GT300 for layed up cover and driving it to and from repairers. Insured value is AU$400,000 (about 220,000quid). Best I could get.

The S4s, no limit on mileage, AU$1,800/year (1,000quid) for AU$120,000 (70,000quid) value.

I just insured my '87 Esprit and my '74 Triumph Spitfire through Grundy Worldwide insurance. A $300 USD deductible per car, full coverage {liability, comprehensive and collision} is $270 USD a year for both cars. The only rules are: the cars may not be every day drivers, to be used as a back up vehicle, not to be driven to work {you may on your day off... but then who wants to go to their work place on a day off?} not to be used for errands {is a beer run an errand?}, car needs to be in a secured garage. No limit on milage, you may drive the car any time you wish. They also quoted insuring my Audi S6 at $120 a year. Agreed value on the Esprit 15k, the Triumph 5k.

Cheers,

Robert

1997 GT3 / no driver issues

Adriam flux £690 !!!!!!!!!

Herritage £575 !!!!

Classic Line £380 !

Has anyone else noticed how muhc insurance has gone through the roof.

I've been with Classic Line since day 1 and NEVER spend over £350, now all of the sudden it's gone up ?

I've never had a quote over £450 until today...crazy stuff, esp from Adrian Flux who after reading good reports I was terribly dissapointed with.

Looks like Classicline get my money again this year.

Just paid mine up - £405 with breakdown cover which is nice (little less than the poxy AA £140 !!) Nice extra with classicline was free trackday cover (usually £50 a throw) if you use a recognised event (ie LoT), gonna get my bum to a few homefully this year. bit peeved at the price hike but overall good value. Might drop the mileage a bit too.

Peter James Insurance were at Malvern & they grabbed me for a quote as I walked by. The quote came though last week at £763! Same week my ClassicLine renewal came through at £230 plus £15 for guaranteed value cert.

That's a cheque for £245 in the post to Classicline then! :)

Had the GT! insured by classicline as well as the GT3 - by far the best quote, tried all sorts and the cheapest I could get for a dinky 1.6 £2000 puddle hopper was £400 ish - more than the GT3 valed at £20,000 !!!!!!!! Madness

Classicline halved it down to £200 which is still insane in comparison but best I could find - great quotes easy to deal with - wont bother searching around next time.

Just out of interest.

Last insurance premium in the UK was 198 UK Pounds fully comp thru Classic Line.

This year in Oz I'm paying Au$700 which equates to Approx UK400 pounds. Fully comp with an agreed value of Au$75,000.

Roger, I'm with Shannons.

Had it insured for three years now with them. first year was $650 and agreed value of 70k. Took the car in to them this year for re-value and bumped it to 75k.

Mark - I need to copy your post...

Just renewed mine last week with Classicline and it's gone down £70! It's now £218, not bad . Maybe it's gone down because I'm approaching 40.

Exactly the same for me including the approaching 40!

I have just renewed the insurance for my 88 Eesprit Turbo here in Oz with Shannon's. The agreed value is now AU$30,000 and the premium is AU$530 per year for full Comprehensive cover with unlimited milage/km's. At today's exchange rate that's about UK 16,500 agreed value for UK 290 pounds premium - not bad for a 'group 20' car.

I was talking to my Dad back in England yesterday and he was telling me that petrol is over 1.60 a litre now. Just to rub it in that's almost 3 times the cost here, and most Aussie's still complain it's too expensive.
