SE Owner :-D 17
Please note those who don't know: Classicline will only insure you if the Esprit is NOT your only car!!! Wasted plenty of time telling some 'girl' all my mods to find out that they won't insure me as i use the car everyday!!! Despite Club LEW membership, Club Lotus membership! Great! Currently with Elephant but not sure the renewal cost is what i want to pay...especially when you look at Troy Halliday's price above! To Footman James... AJay 1
I had an off at Goodwood and Classicline have refused to honour the claim, its in the hands of the Financial ombudsman at the moment, More details when politicaly correct to publish them. My only comment at this point is don't worry about the cost of insurance, its the value that counts and at this moment in time i waisted my premium with classicline and could possably lose the car as well!!!!!!! nicksoldies 0
I had a renewal notice from Footman James. It was more than last year by quite a lot and had gone up quite steeply over tha last few years. As luck would have it, I was at a specialist last week and mentioned it. He told me to try www.hagertyinsurance.co.uk. I did and they managed to cut my quote by a third, cut my excess by a third and that included extra for breakdown cover. They only insure classics, don't require valuations, just two piccies and seem very helpful. A contact name and number is Jayne Jordan - 08700 420940. They are an American company started up by a private collector who has hundreds of classics and wanted better specialist insurance for his cars. He couldn't find what he wanted so started his own company insuring only classics. Now they've expanded in to Europe. Might be worth a try if yours is due. They include cover for events.
