Nice original S2 for sale in Sheffield

Recommended Posts

Whilst doodling about on the web I stumbled across this guys home made Esprit page selling a most original and un-cocked about S2. Apart from droopy mirrors it looks great, I spoke to the owner and he says he can't use it any more becasue of a chronic back complaint.

Heres hoping someone will cherish it, and hopefully won't be one of the growing number of old Lotii disapperaing abroad because the British are too stupid to recognise their own success stories.

It's the same car and the same advert that I have seen before buying mine many months ago.

I never received an answer from the owner so, at the time I was thinking about a frode..

Happy to see the car again.

Cheers

Must admit I mailed him months ago and only just got a reply, don't know what that's all about. Yes the chassis will need a good check over, engine a full service and the tyres look a bit crusty, but check out the interior - no 1980s speaker grilles in the doors, no "luxury" sunroof. Good basis for a minter if there's nothing serious going on.

Nope, it's in Sheffield, England unfortunately for us Americans.

Looks like a superb car, it's great to see that it's been kept so original, inc. the black lower parts. Hope it goes to a great new home.

Yeah

Love the photo timestamped 17th June 2000. That'll be an up to date photo then!

Hehehe hadn't noticed that! Might be having a bit of trouble selling it then?

Paul.

Mat - Not strictly true about galvanised chassis. Lotus replacement chassis were supplied galvanised (I know cos I changed one on aS2)

Steve

You're right, I was talking about original fitment. Anything could be on a restored car...................

Mat
