Fuel Pump Upgrade

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking about replacing my '89 SE fuel pump.... I've seen websites showing more powerful pumps fitted instead of the stock SE pump... perhaps an S4s pump(?), but not sure of the P/N.

The inlet filter on the new pumps looks rectangular and might not fit in the circular cavity the old pump sits in(?)

Thanks for any insight.

Cheers.

Ian

Hi,

I'm suggesting WALBRO 240LPH pump. It's cheap (arr 90GBP) and fits as original, Walbro is well known in SUBARU community.

bye, B

Thanks, Chris...

I did see you wrote this on your website, however...

A couple of installation kits were needed to get the correct electrical adapter, pick up filter, silencer sleeve.

Excellent site, btw :)

Sport 300... Might have a look at that, too, thanks! (anyone have a P/N handy.. I only have books for the SE)

Cheers.

Ian

the extra installation kits were due to the place that I ordered it from...

you would not have that kind of trouble if you ordered it from www.racetronix.com

or some other place that doesn't sell chinese forgeries of Walbro

just tell them you want the electrical connector from the 835 kit and a silencer sleeve and pick up filter (400-1016)

each kit was only $6 so no big deal

far more cost effective than OEM

even with all the kits and 3 shipping charges, it was under $150

enjoy
