Looking for cam cover breather pipe

Recommended Posts

I've checked through the parts list and service manual and the breather pipe that goes from the oil fill neck to the carb air box is not shown or listed.

When my car came back from it's original work, the pipe was missing and I really would like to replace it.

Thanks,

Dave Everett

Hi I may have the wrong thing on my mind here but I would never feed the oil breather back into the carbs. I would use an oil catch tank. I had no end of problems doing this on my old mg. In the end I just bought a k&N oil breather which worked well but the oil would leave a nasty mess where I parked my car. I just think the idea of feeding oily air of varing levels back into the carbs is not good. It lowers the fuels octane and must just make your car run all over the place??!!!

Thanks Bibs. Section 43 ends at 43.03a in my parts list PDF. So it sounds like it's 2 pieces. A large diameter hose to fit to the cam outlet and a pipe to go into the hose and the other end into the air box, is that right?

It's been a while since I saw it so I can't recall the arrangement clearly.
