Esprit S2 - Influx magazine

Recommended Posts

Those who are insured with Adrian Flux may already have seen the short article in their house magazine about Esprit S2.

Although the heading "English Iron" seems rather less than appropriate for the Lotus it's a nice little piece.

The car may have only 160 bhp but as they say, "super cool all the same".

WOW - I love the gold/silver wheels with the silver body :smiling: That looks fantastic, and never seen that combo before!

Anyone know who's car it is?

Silver is never wrong and of course especially on an Esprit.

Would be nice to see the full sice pictures.

I agree the S2 looks really sharp in silver, moreso than some other models. Maybe it's that extra bit of black at the bottom? Or the shape of the wheels? I dunno, but I like!

Love the green Escort, but shame about the red Aston.....

I love the old DBS V8. Total upper-class muscle car. Opposite concept to the Lotus. Heavy and powerful instead of light and low-powered. But both made by small companies struggling to survive. Both desirable in their own ways.

Neat article. I'm not too crazy about the gold wheels (except when on the JPS of course) but you sure can't go wrong with the S2's killer shape.

And it only enhances the 'supercar' look when it's next to the Escort in that one pic!

that car burnt?? what a shame...

silver is such a great color for a S2. a friend of mine had a silver with the grey mouse fur with gave it fantastic "lounge" feel to the whole design. it also had a rare aftermarket louvers over the rear window.

i wonder if crank fire ignitions would help remove the fire hazard of leaky cars raining fuel over the distributor.

once again thanks for putting up the pics

I agree, the versus: DBS V8 = Esprit: fantastic looking cars. Have seen 2 DBS V8 racing in Spa-Francorchamp previous year: killing beauties.

Mark thanks for the quick responce.

What a shame, was this not the car that was rescued from a fire and had a new head job done with sharper cams?

That's a really classy magazine for a freeby - just a pity you have to insure with scumbags like Adrian Flux to get it!

Anybody got any back issues they don't want?

It appeared in several articles, I met Arthur at the NEC a couple of years ago and actually bought his spare wheel off him, so part of the car still lives!

The Compomotives were fitted by him and not original to the car. Unfortunately they didn't survive the fire. It was his car and the pics of it that gave me the idea to try Compomotives on mine.

Mat
