K&N Air filter

Recommended Posts

My nice new shiny air filter arrived today a K&N, one of those cleanable, reusable ones.

For some reason I read the instructions, well I have to put an oil on it, makes sense, but getting over here is not easy, so what type of oil should I use, I'm betting there are a few who don't use the K&N stuff.

Roger :)

Roger,

Usually the K&N comes pre-oiled, ready for installation.

You can easily see if it is pre-oiled, because the oil has a RED color. BTW, the filter element itself is white if not pre-oiled.

That means, if yours looks RED then you can be sure that it is pre-oiled.

Cheers

Marcus

Thanks guys, it's red so it must be already oiled, see how confusing things get when you read the instructions, if I hadn't read them I would never have thought about it!

Hey Rog, I used to clean my K&N filter every year regardless of how many miles has been done and re oiled it with the proper stuff. The K&N oil you can get here in NZ through Repco.co.nz You must be able to get it over there?? What about Supercheap Auto??
