Centre console

Recommended Posts

My '88 has the "stripey" console with a strap over the top.

I'm sure I've read somewhere that the front (by the gear lever) is held in place by velcro & that all I'd need to do was push the whole cover forward (to clear the map compartment) & lift it up, but that doesn't seem to work.

Am I not pushing/pulling hard enough? (don't want to break it).

It seems lose at the front sides (near the gearlever) but there seems to be something in the centre holding it down.

Thanks.

If yours is anything like mine, they you need to remove a few screws that are underneath the armrest then it should just lift up and slide off. Also make sure you be careful to disconnect the fuel door release switch!

Under each end of the strap across the console there is either one ot two screws, they go right through and need to be removed, yes the front is velcro, not sure about the map pocket, I took mine off.

Depending on how far you are going there's a piece in Wiki, about the interior.
