Pet death, a happy and colourful ending.

Hope all's well mate.

:P

It's the character of the cat you miss when it's not about, as i type, monkey

is sat on the mouse (she loves sitting on the desk when i'm on the PC), the

screen moves about as she rolls her arse on the scroll wheel, and it can change

at any time if she hits the click button. Google is our default startup, when i came

down the stairs earlier i could hear the 'bleep' 'bleep' 'bleep' of a keyboard with a

cat curled up on it. Today monkey carried out yet another random google search

of jumbled letters and numbers.

You miss them like hell though when they are at the vet. Clarky went to the vet

almost every other month for one thing or another, he was not a tip top well cat

when we resued him. These people know their stuff and only have one objective:

make the animal better.

Wishing all the best for Nuvolari's speedy recovery,

The Paul C, Vicki, Custard and monkey household.

It's sounding promising, I just talked to the vet, Nuvolari is alert and moving, so they will try food and water, if he can keep it down he can come home. They're a bit concerned about his hart, it's been put under huge strain and may not fully recover, but we can look after him, he might just have watch the birds, possums, snakes, chickens, bull terriers, other cats and all the other things he's taken chunks out of over the years. It will take a while for him to properly recover he's a 6 kilo cat, down to 4 almost overnight.

But we will be well happy if and when he comes home but I hope that will be this afternoon.

Roger :)

He's Home ! He is what you would call convalescing , he's lost a third of his body weight, 6 kilos down to 4 ans he can't even jump onto my bed, but he's eating well, his litter tray is in the laundry because he's not going outside for at least a week.

But I make that the eleventh life!! I'm a few hundred dollars poorer, I think vets bills are up to around $3000.00 in total, but should I you expect from a cat called Nuvolari.

Thanks to all the well wishers, ;):welcome::dizzy::blink::shock: He lives to fight another day.

All this cat tale stuff just reminded me that my brother used to have a cat, whose full name was:

"Crusty Rusty Reedy Rat, Great Big Fat Cat, World's only Flying Dog in Captivity"

Of course, this is the same brother who would walk around with one of his arms "crooked" pretending to be holding an invisible duck named "Howard".

I tried to give him a second oar to row with, but he politely declined.

Well pleased for you both mate.

I was worried for the little guy as it was the trauma of the operation that clarky

never got over, and later that evening it finally got the better of him.

Am sure in a few days it will be like old times, stepping barefoot onto half a mouse,

answering the door then returning to find a furry face in your dinner, etc...

Yup, Nuvolari lives to fight another day, that's why we call him Nuvolari the $3,000.00 bionic cat. $3,000.00 is the current count. He's starting to eat well and put weight back on, doing well for a twelve year old whoes initial injuries were predicted to see him last only until about 8.

Update:

Clarky Warhol is now in the current retro range in Past Times stores

across the country! Images of our dead cat are being produced in some

factory in India and made into cushions.

It's not a money making thing, we don't get (or want) a penny, We are just

chuffed our dead cats image made it into production as one of their images.

On the website:

http://www.pasttimes.com/Spring-09-Home+Ga...ion/invt/815023

I will live my life and die without there being a factory the other side of the world

making images of me. Unless i go out and kill someone famous, Clarky is now more

famous than i will ever be.

Priceless.

Just read the thread and am sorry to hear of anyone suffering the loss of a beloved pet.

Mr John and I are owners of 2 cats who are now 14 and still act like kittens when they want a fuss. They are called Enzo and Dino (I wonder who named them??????)

This naming concession was made on my part in an attempt to satisfy my husbands desire to name our children. I was hoping that in naming them he would get this silly notion out of his head.

WHAT WAS I THINKIN!!!!!

Our sons both have 2 'normal' christian names each followed by an Italian coachbuilding specialist.

Here is your starter for ten:-

Our eldest son's Italian name has designed, among others, bodies for Alfa Romeo, Fiat and was famous for the 80's production car 'Il Monstro'

Our youngest son's Italian name has designed for Ferrari, Aston Martin and Fiat.

Naming your cats and even your kids after the evil red prancing horse should be outlawed.

I prefer even my kids names to those and they are called Beelzebub and Lucifer! (thats a joke BTW they names actually include Sidney and Norman (I'm a evil father)

ahhhh cats love them.....love dogs too but prefer cats

2007 saw me having to put down my cat of 16 years (lol he lasted longer than my marriage ) his name was Tasslehoff Burrfoot, Tass for short, he was named after a cheeky character in a fantasy book. He was just old and gave up eating and drinking, i was heart broken, he was such an affectionate cat.

I lasted 2 months before i had to get another cat, missed the feline company. The kids and i picked up a rescued cat, at the time called dusty a 6 mths old jet black lady, she is now called Lady Jazz Blackfur, Jazz for short :D she's my little shadow

love the artwork, brilliant :D

puuuurrrrrza lol

Great cats! I love cats too! I have 5 at the moment and the occasional fat racoon that thinks it is a cat. It comes up looking for cat food and crawls up in your lap for a nap if you happen to be in the swing or lawn chair. The little cat is 5lbs... then the gambit runs to the big cat at 21lbs (yes, that is pounds). His name (given by by daughter) is Orange Kitty. His other name (given by the wife) is Mr. Waddles. I call him Fatass! Hahaha...

Cameron,

I envy you the lap Racoon! My brother in manchester has squrirrels that

come into his house and sit on the sofa. I'd love some wildlife that felt it

cool to sit with me.

All we get is mice that Custard either delivers live for us to catch, or dead

for us to find some days later, guided by the smell...

My daughter's middle name is Elan, I wanted it as her first name but her mother won that round too.

My mates baby boy has the middle names 'Project Eagle'.

He was furious when just weeks after the christening the name was changed to 'Evora'.

He really should have learnt his lesson nine years ago when his little girl Sarah M250 was

born...

Know the books, love the charater, and have recently discovered that there are a whole load more books written to fill out the story a little more. I believe they were co-written by the son of one of the original authors.

Sorry for going off topic, but I don't meet many folk who I know have read the chronicles.

1st question- what are you doing reading Elle magazine?

2nd question- I know you have said you dont want any money from the use of your picture ( you took it copyright belongs to you) but have you thought about asking for a donation to a cat charity?

The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.

Someone Emailed Vicki to tell her.

:(

TBH mate, i'm not fussed about it. The company that did the artwork let Vicki's

company use it free, we let them use the image free. If it was not clarky they would

have just plucked some random cat as they wanted to use that idea since seeing our

image. Letting them use his image specifically for free is what made it happen, any

charge and they could have had any old cat but not our Clarky.

:(

You don't have to make money on everything i guess. Every pet i have had has died

with little more than the odd personal photo to remember them by. For me the real reward

is that (by letting them use our image) my dead cat is on a Production line in India, he is

on roller blinds and cushions in complete strangers houses, he has been spotted about town

on shopping bags, and now he's in a ladies fashion magazine.

Priceless to me. I'm really easy about it.
