New esprit styling

Hi all just hoping that lotus will get it right .the original is a styling masterpiece from s1 to turbo .the stephens cars in my opionion are stunning .might not have been such a stunning car if it was not based on the orignals lines .no body seems to be styling great cars anymore such as lamborghini miura countach etc i rate oliver winterbottom as a great stylist who deserves more credit for his work at lotus tvr etc . sorry its a long one but once i get started cheers mike

Lotus should somewhat keep the lotus wedge and make it look somewhat like the new ferrari f430 but more lotus looking!

I agree. He did a good job at Lotus and the Elite and Eclat were fine cars. The original drawings of the Elite were excellent. It's a shame the 70's Federal laws insisted on those heavy bumbers.

Car design at the moment is having a similar problem with legislation (pedestran safety), which doesn't allow much scope for innovation. It good to see there are still a few manufacturers still able to producing great designs ie. Lamborghini.

Your absolutely right - I often think about the car market and I'm fustrated by the lack of great choice of wonderful looking cars in the various price brackets. Given 25K, apart from an Esprit and a few TVR's what's out there to turn heads and even for 100K so what - a choice of a handful. Let's hope Lotus does come out with a stunning design for the new Esprit, for afterall however great the Elise or Exige are, design wise there cheeky little things but not remarkable in looks.
