Heater temp dial

Recommended Posts

My hot/cold dial isn't working...

It gets this far when I try to turn it to cold which results in cold air but of course when I turn it to hot I guess it's only getting to lukewarm.

Is this a common problem, easy fix?

Hi Bibs

Really simple problem....absolute pain to fix unless you have hands the size of an action man.

The heater control has a green hard outer sheef that the wire slides back and forth in (Bit like a push rod).

The back of the control mechanism has a grub screw that holds the wire in place. Often this loosens and the wire just slips so it does not actually do anything. To fix simply take out the stereo and using the smallest socket you can retighten the grub screw on to the wire.

If you come out unscathed i'd be surprised as I cut my hands to shreds doing this.

The irony is the song is about a bloke with a new car with a CD player, and I'd just got rid of mine for that stereo. See what I did there? :(

Getting that panel off can be a complete c......

Dont force the panel, they break pretty easy (like mine did) and getting a replacement is impossible nowadays.

If you need to look at the insides pop over and have a look at the SE, it has all the crap there exposed.
