talon
Just came across this shot and, if my eyes do not deceive me, that would be our beloved MJK on the left. Check out the engine they are discussing - looks like a V8 with the 4 pot heads.

peter_england99
Bibs, That's the 4 litre Type 909 V8. I saw it a few years back on a visit to Hethel. According to Graham Robson, there was also a V12 version. Not sure the V12 would fit in the Esprit engine bay.
Kimbers
We have some of the originals, at dads house. That was in 89 with all the special Ed pearl cars on stand. It also included the Etna and that engine was part of the Etna section so surmise it was meant to go into it. As for the CHairman of Toyota, dad was very close to him (and this relationship spreads into todays senior management at Toyota). I remember a dinner party at our house, with him as the VIP. If I remember right it also involved several other important people. Now I remember distinctly, up to 10pm, but it got real hazy after that....except the part with my older brother doing his elephant impression and me doing a moonie pressed up against the French doors....with said VIP's inside. I also remember that, strangely, was the last VIP dinner party we were allowed to drink at....................... Quote Possibly save your life. Kimbers
Did I ever mention that one of the Japanese guests had a beautiful daughter? It all went fine for a while, until they realised we were.....attracted to each other....and then I was warned away as she already had an arranged marriage waiting for her. Of course, when a real life Samurai tells you to fly your kite or it could be bad for you, you do tend to back down a little...... She was lovely though, petite, beautiful and......erm....shapely. Wow I'd totally forgotten 'bout her till we started discussing this. Quote Possibly save your life. iainskea
Yup Iain, I was fixated on that engine too, while all of the chatter was going on. (heh heh ) I dunno if it is Lotus though, it has a name on the heads like 'Pegusus' or something - I will look it up in a book I have on aero engines. Top comments Kimbers BTW Iain
