Katie
It's Spain for me and Jas, more precisely, Barcelona and a beautiful quiet little place on the Costa Brava, overlooking the Medes Islands. For me also it's Norway, which I visited alot through work in the early 90's. It's an incredible country, with some of the friendliest and most welcoming kind people I have ever met. And the cheese is awesome! Quote Just because you can, does'nt mean you should.
USAndretti42
I reckon Brunei, or the Maldives. Roger It can be a bit sticky. Some years ago a colleague went to Brunei on business and had to drive with the wipers on all the time. It wasn't raining. It was that the air conditioning in the car was cooling the windscreen and it was covered in condensation. And the cheese is awesome! Well, that was nicely put, Katy - we Norwegians tend to consider ourselves inherently impolite and "closed" (also many foreigners say so); that we try to avoid conversation and meeting each others eyes. Unlike in the US, where you always get a "hi" or a wisecrack from your lift companion. Guess it all boils down to who you meet - as everywhere in the world. Anyway, if you have not been to Tanzania, staying overnight in the Ngorongoro and climbing the Kilimanjaro, do it "before you go". It's a once in a lifetime experience. Otherwise, in general, my 2 most favourite countries are Italy and the UK. I still have a lot to see in the UK especially the south-western and western parts. Drop a line or give a ring next time you are here, we can go sailing in the fjord and drink at Aker Brygge (that is if it's summer time)! rogerch
I was thinking, again. Being as I live a 6 minuite cycle ride from a sub tropical exotic beach, I should look for something different, when suddenly, watching TV the was a bit abour a safari in Africa. To see all those magnificent animals in their natrual habibtat would be someting special, anyone been there done that? I think it's something one should do if the opportunity is there, and you can still run fast enough! Roger Quote Life is like a sewer, what you get out of it, depends on what you put into it. peter_england99
Roger, Now you have done it! I love Safaris. Living in England, a relatively small country with too many people living in it. The open space of Africa and genuine wildlife is a brilliant break. Wildlife in Kenya is fantastic and the density is good. The downside is the number of other tourists. The anti dope to this is somewhere like Selous national park in Tanzania, which is the size of Wales/Belgium with only a few tourists in the park. When we were there we didn't see another vehicle in the park all day. Have done safaris in Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, Botswana, Zambia & Zimbabwe, so could go on for hours, but will probably bore you all to death. Regards, Peter. peter_england99
Roger, Costs can be very high. Sadly, those safaris I can't afford. But there are plenty of options for different budgets. I've done a combination of "roughing it and loving it" camping/overland to safaris in luxury lodges flying from lodge to lodge. Both types of Safari have their pro and cons. I would like to continue doing both types of safari. Regards, Peter.
