bigsi
went out for a drive to pick some stuff up, on way home and i get the mother of all pains in my lower back, then out of the blue massive cramps in both my legs upper and lower muscles, well i was in absolute agony, so much so i nearly buried the car in a bank, i pulled into the side flicked the hazards on and screamed my lungs out for about 10 mins or so, im not sure but it seemd that long, someone stopped and checked on me as they thought i was having a heart attack!. i managed to peel myself body first out of the car and onto the floor, bloody hell i was in some damn pain, i couldnt move my legs or anything they were locked tight!. after a while the cramps eased and i was able to move slowly, sat on edge of bank trying tocatch my breath with people asking if i was ok. going to see doc next week to see whats going on with my lower back now, as its bloody painful, i know the reiters did some damage to it and its still ongoing but this is like nothing i have felt before. im telling you now, if your 6ft odd and have any sort of siezure in an esprit your well and truly fooked cos your not getting out!! so i have had a couple of my strongest tablets and im now officially zooked out, until that point it was a nice drive! luckily the car is ok just a little mud splashes on it, my arse was covered in wet mud and grass sitting on the bank so now i plan on having a nice cuppa tea now kellys home and not moving for the rest of the day!! Bibs
Blimey mate, that's not good but I'm glad you're ok after some of those horse tablets of yours! Personally I'd stay out of the car until the doc gives you the all clear. You don't want this to happen again if you're at some speed, it's not even worth thinking about. Cramp at any time isn't nice, let alone a major cramp when you need to be in control. Had you done anything to bring it on or do you think that your back problem brought it on? Anyway hope it turns out to be a one-off mate! Best wishes Simonf Quote REHABS FOR QUITTERS!! iainskea
Ouch Si - a painful day out and lucky escape. In my medical opinion (as an engineer), I had lower back probs that resulted in leg cramps in the car due to tensing my legs to manage the back pain, I wonder if this is what you did? Off to the doc my good man where they will charge you more than 55 pounds per hour! - but ask for a lube-job while you are there. Get well soon mate. ramjet
Not good news Si, especially when you're in your car. I suffer from leg cramps a fair bit. I have had them playing golf on a hot day and a cold day (I actually collapsed on the course once). When I was tiling during the day and when I've been in a car as well. I have had the calves go followed by the muscles on my shin at the same time (try and stretch that out, when you stretch one the other tightens and cramps) Zero fun day out. What I do carry which seems to work is Glucodin tablets. It does not stop my legs from recramping as there is obviously some chemical imbalance that causes it, but the glucodin takes only about 5 seconds to relax the cramp/s I get. You can buy them in just about any supermarket or chemist. As everyone else has said. and yourself, get to the quack about your back, but the glucodin is just an idea for you. Hope you're ok now. Take a load off for as long as you can or at least utill the bone crunchers can help sort things out. Hope your up to feeling better soon.
