A few of us did this one last year - OK for a couple of hours, but as its November, not much car park park socialising.

I'd be up for a couple of hours there....

Once built myself a Lightspeed Magenta (using the awesome Austin/Morris/MG 1300 mechanicals!!!) but it was a great laugh for a couple of years. Things have moved on a bit since and kit cars can be pretty much like the real thing now - wouldn't mind catching up with what's out there.

Hmmm....that's a toughy, I'd forgotten about this. I've been planning to go up to the NEC classic show since I saw that post a few weeks ago.....but this is a lot nearer to home and therefore a bit tempting. Not sure which to do now. Anyone else going up to Brum? I suppose I could do the NEC on the Friday and Exeter at the w/e. Which day are "we" going to Westpoint?

Ahh good point Mike. I'd cast my vote for the Sunday if poss. (most likely working on Sat)

Is the Sunday OK? or anybody particularly wanting to go Saturday? (Peter, Mike and Tim as you guys are the only confirmed yes's at the mo)

Yes, Sunday is fine with me. Do we meet at Westpoint, or Exeter Services or similar and convoy along from there?

That also leaves Friday or Saturday to go to Brum. Anyone else thinking of going??

Best bet is Exeter Services as if we meet at Westpoint we will not be parking together, but pretty spread out amongst a thousand odd cars when we arrive separately.

ETA to be confirmed. (only half mile from Exeter Services anyway)

Shall we aim to meet Exeter Services (top car park - nearest to entrance) at 10.30am? (Sunday 16th Nov)

Hey, good thread whoever started it :(

Yup, Sunday 10:30 at the services is good for me too

Apparently you get in free if you drive a kit car... do you think if I point to the Renault gearbox, the Rover stalks, the Toyota hubs, brakes and lights they'll buy it? Can't remember what the steering rack's off... Triumph something...? :D

I'll be there to see the Edge stand, driving the donor car (or one of them!)...I'm building a Devil with the same Audi V8/6 speed gearbox that Hilly used on his Giugiaro Esprit..driving over from France on Saturday, to the show on Sunday, off to S&J's Monday (need to replace 2 melted pistons!).

Chaps - just spotted that you can save a quid by downloading the show guide here... not hugely informative, but it does have a map and list of trade & manufacturer stalls for the terminally disorientated :(

Well, that quid might just buy you a cuppa instead :)

Well, got home safely and relatively stress-free, in spit of the p*ssing rain all the way home. Managed to tank the GT40 along nicely (legally all the way, obviously)!

Just wanted to say that it was nice to see you all today and hope to meet up again soon.

Christmas lunch is next?

Yes...an excellent run - far enough for a good blast but no threat of becoming a slog. And some interesting plastic to gawp at when we got there. I dont think I'll be swapping anytime soon, though I thought the

Nice to catch up with you all today. :)

I have to say I saw nothing that I'd swap the Esprit for but there were a few interesting odds and ends. Too many Lotus 7 clones and Cobra clones for my liking, where are all the weird and wonderful fun cars these days?

I used to love kit cars and going to the shows, but agree very few seem to be original designs these days. Did you see the lime green Nova there? Bootiful!
