Yeah, I'm 6'2" and it's a tight fit (totally worth it though!). My knees hit the steering wheel sometimes, and if I spike my hair it rubs the ceiling. Track days - trying to slouch with a helmet - are quite uncomfortable.

There is a mod to help this for G-cars at least: http://www.lotusespritforum.com/cms/index....r&Itemid=69 and click on 'interior', then on 'increased headroom'.

I'm 6'6' and have just learnt to kind of sink more into the seats. Head still brushes the top, so I'm comfy but its always going to be tight. It still wouldn't have mattered if I was 7'6' - would have still had an Esprit and found a way to drive it.

Always do sober what you said you'd do drunk - that will teach us to keep mouth shut!

When i started driving the TE with normal seats and seat rails I use to open the glass roof and simply have the top of my head above the normal roof life. I've since made adjustments so that i can have my head vertical and keep the roof closed.

As Clarkson once said....''the Esprit is like a small room. You can rearrange the furniture around, but you're still left with a small room''

I'm not so stuck for space myself, though I used to be before I lost weight. My problem is rather the opposite, I'm not tall enough. And despite having the seat as far forward as it will go, getting the clutch to the floor is an effort. Getting the accelerator to the floor is never a problem

Just because you can, does'nt mean you should.

At 5'4" and under 10st, I kinda rattle, eye level view of the instrument pod, cant see the bonnet but who needs to. Size 6 shoes and still only just enough space to heel and toe. Never tried in this one, but I can tell you it's possible in an S4 Elan! so the Esprit should be no problem!

I'm 6.1 feet and my seat is as far as it goes backwards and luckily I fit just perfectly.

okay I admit I am rubbing it in a little

I am 6'4" and fit OK into my GT3. I would be lying if I said it wasn't "snug" and it can be interesting trying to get in in car parks, but other than that it is fine and comfortable enough for long journeys. I do have a set of karting boots which helps with the pedals though.

My old mans 6ft 6in and fitted into his 1989 car fine (after they removed the seat runners and bolted the seat to the floor).

I'm 6ft and very comfortable thanks.

Roadstone, if you take the time to read the Lotus Anecdotes topic you'll see that Lotus did loads of research into it's potential customers and then Colin overuled my dad and cut 2inches out of the wheelbase, which made the interior 4-6 inches smaller. Hence the "tightness" for anyone over 6ft.

Possibly save your life. Check out this website.
