Timing belt location on cam

I notice my new timing belt seems to be very close to the front edge of the cam gear(s) (1/8 inch)...Is this OK is there some danger of the belt coming off the cam(s). I certainly more comfortable with the belt being closer to the center of the geear and away from the edge.

If I need to move it back, what's the procedure - and is it difficult?

Upgrade today to remove Google ads and support TLF.

There isn't any adjustment on that, and 1/8 is like many others I've seen.

In general the belt can wander from front to rear on the cam pulleys, dissy/ charge cooler/ oil pump pully and tensioner idler, but not so on the crank pulley where it is between the sump and the crank v belt pulley. As such your belt would need to be very loose for it to have enough slack to move to a longer path that is the edge of the pulley, let alone move off it completely.

So, it's fine.
