NMEG July Jollies (Bucket & Spade optional)

Recommended Posts

PLEASE NOTE NEW DATE

NOW 27th JULY NOT 20th JULY

NMEG's next sortie is a trip to the seaside.

We'll be off to Barmouth on the Welsh coastline.

The hoon is on Sunday the 20th 27th of July.

The route will take us through Llangollen, past Bala and down to Dalgellau in the Snowdonia National Park.

Warm sunny weather has been booked.

The day will almost certainly involve lots of ice cream and a lunch.

If the weather is kind lunch will be a BBQ at Lisalotus house just outside Barmouth.

Hi Graham ,

I will be missing this flyout - still espritless and likely to be in the Smoke with Mat drinking antifreeze on the 19th

To allow Officers to bid farewell to Squadron Leader Matk this hoon has been re-arranged and will now take place on the 27th July and NOT the 20th July.

So Alex, Dodgy et al please add your names to the list.

Cheers,

Graham.

Delighted and honoured that I've both been promoted, (Flying Officer to Squadron Leader in one fell swoop), and that you've reorganised around me.

Quite touched really! Many thanks.

Regards

Mat

I've been thinking about a jaunt into Wales myself recently.... sadly on this day I have to be at Liverpool airport picking up the other half....

.... are there any plans for august?

Andy,

What time Liverpool? You're half way there. Depending on time you could turn up late or leave early

August will either be attending the James Bond day at Bletchley Park (Bank Holiday Monday the 25th), if they'll reply to our e-mails, or possibly the Paul Matty hill climb at Shelsy Walsh on Sunday the 17th.

I'll start a thread once we know something more definite.

See you soon,

Graham.

Graham,

i need to be at Liverpool for 1530....

depending on what time you're planning on going i could come for a morning jaunt, and then get lost somewhere in wales on the way home

or else ill have to wait till august. Maybe a hoon earlier on in august?

Andy

Andy,

Plan will be an early start, then lunch in or near Barmouth before returning.

So, sounds like you could join us for the run in and either have lunch and be late at the airport or make a sharp exit at lunch-time and go hungry.

Either way, I think your name needs to go on the list.

Cheers,

Graham.

OK. I have just spoken to Lisa, the 27th is OK depending on weather obviously, the reason she has not been on, she is running a horsey business from home, and its a 6am to 10pm job at the moment.

The lovely Lisa (she of Lisalotus fame) who lives just outside Barmouth has very kindly agreed to allow us to use her pad for a Bar-B-Q lunch on the day weather permitting.

Big thanks Lisa :(

If the weather is not so good then Lisa will be offering indoor bacon butties. Those who remember Lisa's bacon butties from the Donington trip a couple of years ago will surely be back for more.

To help Lisa cover the cost we need to make a contribution of

The Barbie sounds attractive - will go into negotiation mode with 'er indoors.

Not being cogniscant of flying honours, I thought I'd better find out what DFC stood for.

A number of options came up:

Discounted Cash Flow - but you're not an accountant and if you wanted this you wouldn't have a Lotus

Dance Floor Chart (sponsored by MTV) - somehow don't think that's you Graham

Dairy Farmers of Canada - has Dodgy been telling you something?

Dundee Football Club - bit of a way from Staffordshire

Deputy Fire Chief - good to know who's got the extinguisher in the convoy in case of fuel leaks

Delicious Flat Chest - ?!?!? - if you like that kind of thing

Deferred Financing Costs - snooooooooooze

but then I found what it really means

Disaster Finance Centre.

Congratulations on your decoration and I need one too as I'm about to invest in some new brakes.

David,

I'm sure you knew all along that I awarded myself the Distinguished Flying Cross. Seems fitting. Help yourself to whatever medals you fancy.

Andy,

I'm planning a fairly early start especially as we've now got a Barbie booked for lunch and we'll need to consume adequate quantities of ice cream beforehand.

I expect we'll be meeting at the Gingerbread Man in Market Drayton at 9.00 with a view to moving off by 9.30am. That should give us plenty of time to chomp through ice cream before descending on Lisa for lunchtime.

Cheers,

Graham.

A raz over the hills to the coast you say? sounds like fun. I know im in London on 25th for the evening and recovering for the vast majority of the 26th but i may well be available for this little bop out. Unlikely that i would be requiring food and am not yet sure if i will have the boss with me... i shall of course confirm both in due course

Looking forward to seeing the other G Boys
