Backmarker
Ok guys I thought it was about time that I detailed this Sunday's timings. We will meet at the Gingerbread Man in Market Drayton at 9.00am with the intention of departing by 9.30am. From there we'll head for Whitchurch and then Llangollen (possible Pee stop) Then it's the A5 through Corwen and then left onto the A494. Past Bala and down to Dolgellau. Then it's the A496 to Barmouth. 86 miles from Market Drayton so about an hours driving B) If anyone knows a good place to park in Barmouth please say so. Once we've had an ice cream we'll make our way to Lisa's for food. So far my list looks like this (please add or detract): Me/Officer Dibble DFC Dave Oneshot Mrs Oneshot Dodgy Dave David (possible) Alex (is he or isn't he?) Hopo (EMEG or NMEG mate?) Andycs3 The rest of the squadron (Phil, Howard, Simon, Ian etc) are you in or out? See you Sunday guys & gals Graham. oneshot
Graham Parking in Barmouth will depend on the time and weather. There may be space along the seafront (unlikely) and there is a pay and display on the front as well. Don't know of anywhere else really. lisalotus
Hi Guys Sorry its been so long since I,ve been on here. Been really busy setting up stud farm. The livery yard at staffs went tits up, so I,ve decided to make a go of it here. Since I last saw alot of you I only had 1 horse, pegaso an andalusian stallion that bit bibs LOL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, I,ve now got 7 horses, three of which are stallions. My latest is a black andalusian stallion named Cupido, he,s gorgeous. So you can see why I dont get much time nowadays, its become a full time job, day and night. Any way looking forward to seeing you all on sunday, what time are you hoping to get to barmouth ?????????, if I come and meet you there, you can follow me back home, I know where all brunstroms arsehole minions lurk, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr to well unfortunatly. Theres a couple of accident black spots where the road cambers are all wrong, average of 4 deaths a year at one corner alone. Me and jody call it murder death kill corner. The best place to park at Barmouth is on the sea front carpark. See you Sunday x lady esprit drivers do it fast and furious 1st lieutenant to the Fearless red squadron

Backmarker
What a day................ Started at about 9ish when I see AndyC in Market Drayton but going in the opposite direction. He's soon back at the meeting point. With LEF being off line he couldn't check timings or meeting places. So well down Andy. And well done girlfriend for catching the bus from Liverpool airport to Manchester so that Andy could come out to play Does she have any sisters? Then Dave Oneshot throws a sicky and says he can't make it but Simon Gleave turns up unexpected. Excellent. So, off we set. One S3, one S3 turbo, one GT-3 and one V8-GT. Leaving Whitchurch we come across a wide load with police escort so Tom-Tom assisted Dodgy Dave signals to follow him. We're soon on farm tracks miles from where we want to be. Driving through Ellesmere (still trying to find Llangollen) I get a call from Dave Oneshot to say he's feeling better and he's on his way (made out of strong stuff these NMEG chaps!) At this rate, I expect he'll beat us there. We stop at Llangollen to enable Simon to return to base and its decided that Tom-Tom will be replaced by the trusty map! Loads of traffic. At first we stay in line but eventually, boredom gets the better of us and a few overtakes follow. Barmouth is heaving. Glorious weather has bought the tourists out. We find a place to stop to call Lisa but Dodgy's phone is out of battery! We decide to aim for Lisa's place and on the way she passes us in the opposite direction. We wait a few minutes to allow her to turn around. She then escorts us home.........and across the 60p wooden toll bridge. Lisa's place is stunning. On the sea front with mountains out the back. We get to see the Italian stallions, the Shetlands, the chickens and ducks, the 8 dogs, 3 cats and 3 chinchillas..........wow Excellent B-B-Q in the wonderful sunshine. Thanks Lisa for your hospitality. Hopefully we can do it again. Andy had left early for Manchester so the last 3 standing left around 6.15pm. My plan was to go past Bala but after turning off and waving bye to the two Daves and Anita, I discovered that the road was closed. Turn around and head for Shrewsbury but by then the other two Esprits had well and truly gone. A tiring day but great fun. Next sortie is August 17th being the Paul matty Hill Climb at Shelsey Walsh............details to follow. Graham.
