it seems there wearing lotus emblems, in other words some clever marketing person at lotus wants to tap into the "viral" internet world. its indirect advertising, just ppl with no faces walking into wimbledon, and there you go togs take pics becuse it weird,,,,,FREE LOTUS ADVERTISING.

So, buy a new Lotus and you too can look like a faceless chartered accountant. Much more interesting than trying to get customers to identify with James Bond, Emma Peel, The Prisoner, Ayrton Senna, Nigel Mansell or Jim Clark.

It's point is its very pointlessness gets everyone talking about it trying to guess a meaning. I'm guessing the clock on the website is something to do with Eagle launch?

I've got a strange feeling Eagle won't be called Eagle on launch, so something without any name attached may well be very deliberate.

Lotus is gearing up for its most important product launch since the Elise bowed 13 years ago at the 1995 Frankfurt show. Codenamed "Eagle," Lotus' new sports car will be unveiled at the London Motor Show in late July. It will feature a unique aluminum chassis with a bonded one-piece carbon-fiber roof

In marketing terms this is pure genius. Minimum cost maximum exposure, and controversial so it's gets people (like us) talking. Modern ad campaigns run into millions upon millions of pounds, which Lotus don't have, so this does the same thing at a fraction of the cost, It's similar to the Cloverfield film campaign, keep people guessing right up to the launch, so anticipation is at fever pitch, the risk is the product better be worth the hype.

Brilliant advertising and you'll see on the 27th that the tag line for the new car ties into the faceless people.

It's all about the Eagle Launch hence the countdown timer. Just type in faceless people into google and you'll see how much coverage it's getting. Also watch the Henly Regata, British GP etc etc.
