the price has gone up because i've been seen driving around in mine. if you want the price to go down, start a rumor that i'm a gay muslim cannibal, who cheats at golf.

teigan wasn't completely truthful....he's a gay muslim cannibal who also eats pork and cheats at golf and putt putt...it's that relaxed southern california air which undermines all religious morays, BUT in teigan the cannibal's favor- he doesn't eat mexican! he does have an excellent and discerning palate!

If the guy who is selling the only Esprit for sale in Columbia wants mega$$$$ :P

You probably would be further ahead to bring one in from the USA :D

I think you are pretty much on your own on this one Lince :P

Thank you for the response the problem is that bringing a used 91 lotus will cost me an extra US$18.000-US$22.000 over the price i pay for it in USA and an S4s that is the one I really would love to get would be US$25.000-30.000 over the price in usa they are selling me the one in here for US$27.000 it has just 15.000 miles but requiere work inside and outside, suspension, paint, interior timing belt, so all that i will have to add it to the price the good side is that my family owns a bi car dealership so i might get very good prices on most things but not parts.

Ok, let's test it now.

Today I am selling my Esprit S1 by auction for EURO 52.000,-- :P

You can see pictures of the car in the Garage section.

Take this chance to buy it today because tomorrow the price

will raise up to EURO 55.000,-- :P

Perhaps when nobody is interested in buying the car I will be a rich man

in a few days, because the price daily climbes higher and higher :D

I have not really seen a price spike. The driving season is almost over for 1/2 of the USA soon so it will more than likely take it's histoically seasonal down turn in price in the USA. Winter or late fall is a good time to buy an Esprit as the seller will want to get rid of it to avoid the bother of winterizing and storage, he will be more willing to deal if he is from the northern states. As for the 29K one can ask for whatever price he wants but it is another thing to actually sell it for that.

Alejandro, it looks like you are caught in between a rock and a hard place! :P

It looks like your most cost effective alternative is to buy the local car and do the work on it . :P

Do you have any Lotus dealerships or parts suppliers in Columbia? :D

The sports car market is rising, though it's not at 1991 levels. Being that a rising tide raises all boats, I've seen an increase in prices for the Esprit also.

Two other reasons for rising sports car prices are 1) people realize the cost of buying a restored car at a somewhat high price is less expensive than buying a cheaper car and restoring it oneself and 2) the cars with serious problems have been weeded out and we now have a much smaller population of cars, but they are the better ones.

Several years ago I wanted to sell my 1984 Turbo Esprit and get an Esprit SE. Although I can still do that, the price disparity between the two cars now is much greater.

True... Your Turbo is now worth more than the SE.... :P

SE Prices have plummeted ridiculously and they are probably the most undervalued car on earth!

G-Car Turbos however have increased by about

So what are you saying? lrg_machine isn't really a trigger happy kitten? Teigan isn't actually a quick sketch? And - perish the thought - you are not really an old F1 car??? Now I'm confused.
