If one is ever in the area, a tour of the Corning Museum of Glass is worthwhile (close to Watkins Glen). Steuben glass is made in Corning too and is featured in the museum but Corning glass sold off Steuben in 2008. Corning made the 200 inch mirror for the Mount Palomar observatory in CA (a story in itself with the manufacture and transportation across the country)
