What made you happy today?

I got two weeks for 106....amateur dramatics helps; never was such a cringing whippet seen! The usher suggested I cheer up, as we walked out.....and then apply for my license back at the Post Office next door to the court. Chap up before me got a 6 month ban for 103...he had a brief, and I don't think the marble haired chairwoman of the bench liked that much....In those days, any ban left you with a clean license!

Err, 6 weeks for 128 on the M25 (6am on a bank holiday, it was empty), 18 months for 5 speeding offences in a year when I worked in a casino and commuted 150 miles/day on empty motorways at night, I think 10 years in France for 159 (kph) and 2 days when I had an FMT600 from the RAF for doing donuts in a yellow SWB Land Rover, our Sqn Ldr saw me from his glider 1,500' above us on the Northern Grass at Manston, I was 16 so good to get it out of the way early! In the video above they guessed we were doing 125 at that point and later in the day when the 8 cars sent to catch up did catch us they said we were pulling away from them and they were doing 150mph! That was my NA, with a factory top speed of 138mph so 16 court appearances over 18 months saw the case pretty much dropped by the CPS.

I'm also a couple of points away from the crystal decanter I think I saw at Greenwich Magistrates, but it's been a while so my licence has been clean for 4-5 years now unbelievably! I'll not disclose the total I've had as it's not big or clever but I've stood on the side of the road eating humble pie more than a few times but there aren't many options with one dart to get that many points!

That said, I would have liked a copy of the video from the drive up to @Sparky's when he was changing the clutch on my SE. I had a little 'thing' with an Audi Quattro and an unmarked Vectra wanted to join in! My Esprit was looking magnificent that day - I did ask but the cop said it's not really the done thing.

Long time ago, I had a fine of 650  gbp plus two years having to drive without any other fine, plus I had to take the driving liscense all over again, for doing 140 mph through center of Copenhagen (late Sunday afternoon) in a bet of who came first to the Little Mermaid to get a big icecream. Well, it wasn't me anyway.

Kind regards,

Jacques.

Thanks, fellows, I wasn't expecting the number of "likes" or responses to the new arrival - I just put up the post because I was happy about it. And I don't want to turn into one of those annoying donkeys who has a child or grandchild and then carries on like he just invented the idea, so let's get back to talking about cars.

Speaking of cars, the early arrival of the kid means that my wife and I should be able to carry on with our planned road trip at the end of the month. We'll be driving the Europa 600 miles down to the Oregon coast with a group of about 20 vehicles, mostly pre-1974 American muscle cars. A report will follow in due course.

It's one for the cognoscenti!

First and last one I flew on, now beautifully presented in Barbados.

What made me happy today. Let me think, oh yes. I have been catching up on the comments from some of you plebs, something to do with a visit to a psychiatrist, another about a threat from immigration. Well tough shi+. I am back, so beware.

Oh no. There goes the nation again!

Welcome back to the land of the taxed John. Glad you arrived safely

I came into this world screaming and covered in someone elses blood. I'll probably leave it in the same way.
