Always liked the 550/575 and iirc Eddie Irvine rated it as the best driving Ferrari of its time. Did the GT40 not happen Mark? Quote Alcohol. Sex. Tobacco. Drugs. Chocolate. Meh! I was hoping to get it modified so I could fit it in, however the GT40 specialist even if they modified it, I still wouldn't fit as I'm to tall. 1 Quote Mark www.lotusespritturbo.com

Gold FFM Popular Post C8RKH 6,262 Posted November 3, 2020 Gold FFM Popular Post Report Share Posted November 3, 2020 As some of you will have picked up, I'm not really mechanically minded. However, one of my cordless drills stopped working. Could press the switch, the light would come on, but the drill not go round and round. Pah, what a pain in the arse. However, I decided to bite the bullet and take the drill apart! WTF was I thinking. So eight screws identified and removed. Carefully pulled open the two plastic halves and was confronted with the internals! Argh... That looks complicated. However, separated the drill unit from the motor and pulled everything out of the drill. All wires were connected and none loose. So just assumed the problem was with the "switch" that sat behind the trigger. So removed it and gave it a good clean, a few sprays of WD40 (I believe WD40 can do everything from driving out moisture to putting an astronaut on the moon!). Cleaned everything up. Greased the motor cogs. Put it all back together. Screwed the two halves together and then with a bit of hope, a prayer and several Hail Mary's spoken, I inserted the battery. WTF - my broken drill now not a broken drill and I have actually fixed something! [email protected]@k me I thought. Felt like a real hero lol...... Woo hoo... Probably be on the "what made you unhappy thread" by the weekend when it stops working again! 3 Quote Alcohol. Sex. Tobacco. Drugs. Chocolate. Meh! Barrykearley 6,867
Careful @C8RKH - I had a similar issue with a Makita multi tool. The brushes were sparking and it smelt funny. My mate gave me some wd40 lithium spray stuff - which I swiftly sprayed in. Fast forwards a few seconds and the flaming Makita flambé was being kicked across the room 1 Quote Only here once
Gold FFM C8RKH 6,262 Posted November 3, 2020 Gold FFM Report Share Posted November 3, 2020 No spark, no funny smell, just a bloody micro switch that was playing up. If it starts to flambe I'll be fine as i have a bag of Marshmallows hidden under my work bench in the garage - I like them dipped into my Americano! (coffee that is, not woman!) Quote Alcohol. Sex. Popular Post mdw 275
Yesterday I had the lens in my right eye replaced due to a cateract, l/h eye to be done in 2 weeks. For the first time in 45 years I have spent the day so far without glasses on full time. I will need reading glasses once they are both done. Slightly wierd process espcially the removal of the old lens but no discomfort today and amazed how much brighter and more vivid everything is.

Bibs 11,171
They can be done again, and will sometimes need to be done again (I think it's called Age Related Macular Degeneration) and I was told that having thick corneas mean it wouldn't be a problem if required. My distance vision is still ace but close up isn't as good as it once was. 1 Quote 88 Esprit NA, 89 Esprit Turbo SE, Evora, Evora S, Evora IPS, Evora S IPS, Evora S IPS SR, Evora 400, Elise S1, Elise S1 111s, Evora GT410 Sport Evora NA For forum issues, please contact the Moderators. Mark Blanchard 1,647
Hi Barry, thanks. The paint seems to have more depth, it's like a mirror finish. And you don't need to polish the car for a year to two, just use a Quick Detailer. It's also good for protecting the car against the elements. I've been told it will take 2 weeks to cure, then the paint will look better still. Quote Mark www.lotusespritturbo.com
