Popular Post ChrisJ
My son build his first PC today - I have tried a couple of times in the past, but I ended up putting it together. For this one, we have been talking about the specification since September - after he came out with some parts he wanted. There are still a couple of things that he wants to upgrade, but that will have to wait a few months - especially as he can now play some games he couldn't do before as one of the major upgrades was a new graphics card.
Bibs
Doh, I've got some RAM and a graphics card here gathering dust if you want to build another sometime. I think it's 2 x 8GB and a 6GB gfx. Lemme know if you could use them at some point and I'll pop 'em in the post 2 Quote 88 Esprit NA, 89 Esprit Turbo SE, Evora, Evora S, Evora IPS, Evora S IPS, Evora S IPS SR, Evora 400, Elise S1, Elise S1 111s, Evora GT410 Sport Evora NA For forum issues, please contact the Moderators. Gold FFM johnpwalsh Posted January 1 Gold FFM Report Share Posted January 1 So, last night the Mrs say's, lets send out 2021 with a BANG. So we crank up the sound system, get all the Christmas lights on at the same time. And yes, they go out with a BANG. Bloody fuse gone. No problem says I as the house gets cold (heating goes off with electric) we can light a fire. Kindlers on, bit of paper and some coal. And it's roaring. Then I thinks. Which bright spark had that Idea, our chimney has been capped off so now we have a house full of smoke. Call the fire brigade she say's. Bloody phone wont work without power. No signal on the mobiles. Oooop's say I. Ding Dong, the clock strikes midnight. Well just as the small gas cannister which is lighting the stove near the fire goes out with a BANG. I say. Well Mrs, you got that one right. Only joking. Hope you all have a great, happy, healthy and prosperous 2022 From both Wendy, myself, all at Club Lotus North East Scotland. Popular Post ChrisJ
More of a made me laugh than made me happy. Just looking at ordering a new tumble dryer. I've added a dryer to the basket and had these as related products. The iron I can understand, but the others I guess I could make a coffee and a toasted sandwich, then clean my teeth while waiting for the dryer to finish.

ChrisJ
A good new story. #The 86-year-old runner who refuses to slow down - BBC News Quote An 86-year-old athlete has vowed to keep up the sporting pace. Tony Bowman, from Guiseley in West Yorkshire, has been taking part in athletic events since he was a child. Despite having two heart attacks and suffering heart failure three times, Mr Bowman holds numerous records for sprinting in his age bracket. The veteran sportsman's ambition is to run the 100 metres aged 100 and to live to 120. When asked if he still got a buzz from competing, Mr Bowman explained that in the moments before a race the "adrenaline rush is unbelievable". We've got a chap at my hockey club still playing at 85. Last year when I played a match with my son (who is the youngest male hockey player at the club) on the team he plays for, there's a 73 year age gap. We found it by chance on Facebook. They are just arriving in the UK and there's only 2 (now one) supplier. More common in Europe and mostly used on commercial premises (bars and restaurants). We are really happy with it. They are not considered permanent structures so don't need planning permission like a conservatory. On the other hand you have to think of them as open spaces as they are not thermally sealed. https://www.verandair.com/fr/ We are getting some heating installed which will take the edge off the cold if we wish

ChrisJ
All week rather than just today. My wife and I were heavily involved in hockey when we lived in Africa, and currently, the Africa Cup of Nations is being played in Accra, Ghana - with "our" country involved in both the men's and women's competitions. This is being broadcast live over the internet, so we have been watching the matches. There has been a lot of shouting at the monitor
Popular Post andydclements
Mixed emotions, so not entirely happy: The scales indicate my weight as 18st 13lb this morning, 6 days after the diet started and the scales indicated 19st 5lb. The weight loss is making me happy but how far I let it go before addressing the situation and how far I now need to continue, less so. What was frightening was using an app to track calories & weight etc, when I entered my height it indicated my target should be 18st based on the "average" for my height. NHS website indicates a healthy weight of 10st 9lb - 14st 5lb, FFS, I can remember being c15st and less than a 30 inch waist, what the heck would I look like at less than 11st? I'd hide behind telephone poles. So, aiming 17st for now, then maybe keep going to 16st.

It depends on house type/size. For detached, it can go out up to 4 metres without permission. And as far as I know, you are not allowed to heat a conservatory, this is due to the poor insulation value of the glazing. Your verandah looks very nice, the most versatile I've seen! Popular Post exeterjeep
Saw this story, made me smile..... Robot vacuum cleaner escapes from Cambridge Travelodge https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cambridgeshire-60084347 A robot vacuum cleaner made a break for freedom after giving staff the slip at a Travelodge hotel. The automated cleaner failed to stop at the front door of the hotel in Orchard Park in Cambridge on Thursday, and was still on the loose the following day. Staff said it just kept going and "could be anywhere" while well-wishers on social media hoped the vacuum enjoyed its travels, as "it has no natural predators" in the wild. It was found under a hedge on Friday. Staff at the hotel posted the story of the robot vacuum's great escape on social media, asking for it to be returned, if found. "Today we had one of our new robot vacuums run for its life," the assistant manager wrote. "They normally sense the lip at the entrance [to the hotel] and turn around, but this one decided to make a run for it." While some readers joked about the robot's adventures, one feared for its safety in the great outdoors, pointing out that "nature abhors a vacuum".
