Kimbers 1,834
Here's a copy of an internal memo that has been approved for release to you guys by MJK. There's not alot for me to say, except it is a very serious operation. I will be taking copies of any comments, messages you wish to leave in this thread, when he has recovered somewhat. Memo reads: "Dear Colleagues On a very personal note, as you know, I have for some time been suffering from a painful and debilitating slipped disc problem. At the start of this year my consultant advised me to limit the amount of overseas and road business travel which I undertake on behalf of Group Lotus and which I have, to some extent, ignored. Regrettably this has not eased the issue with my prolapsed disc and I have been advised this morning by the consultant that I should have immediate surgery in order to prevent any permanent damage and eliminate the pain. This sudden medical decision means that an operation has been arranged for tomorrow, Friday 17th October, and I understand that I shall be in hospital for up to 3 days. Fortunately, most of this will be over this weekend. Arrangements have been made for our IT department to set up a fully functioning office (email, fax, telephone) at my home for the 3-4 weeks of my recuperation. Once I am discharged from hospital I intend to function as normal, (but without long distance travel for 4-6 weeks), albeit not from my normal office at Hethel. I trust that you will understand that I have been forced to make this decision due to the fact that if I continue to ignore having this operation, I am told this could cause permanent mobility damage. Best personal regards Mike " Quote Possibly save your life. Check out this website.http://everyman-campaign.org/ Distributor for 'Every Male' grooming products. red vtec 186
Hope he gets better soon. I had this done when I was 13 I was in bed for 6months!! and had to have physio to learn to walk again due to muscle wastage, in my case I had to have a spinal graft. Sounds like your Dad has caught it in good time Just tell him to take it easy when he comes out as it will prevent further problems.
