Well done Lewis

Recommended Posts

OK he did it it's over, yes I got up at 4.00am, and I'm pleased he won it, but.

Lewis won at Spa so it should have been over in China, Lewis has beaten Massa, Ferrari and the FIA.

Problem is I just can't get excited about such a cavorted result, my first GP was Aintree 1962, funnily enough won by Jim Clark driving a Lotus, I have loved motor sport all my life, but now I can't be bothered.

Yeah.... Well done Lewis... I'm glad he's done it. But I agree with you - I just couldn't get excited about it. Found it to be a strange sort of anticlimax actually - everything changes now, next year he'll be a defending world champion, and that's gotta be a lot more stressful... I wonder how he'll do. :sofa:

I would've dearly loved to have seen him race Michael Schumacher!

Roger, there's a lot more to motorsport than just F1!

What a strange lap Glock put in at the end, the last couple of laps were bizarre! Well done to Lewis all the same. I'm no F1 fan but it's good that a Brit is world champ and he's worked hard for it!

Yeh....I'm pleased Lewis won the championship, just cos it stopped the cheats at Ferrari getting it. Trouble is tho I cant get out of my head that the team had to cheat to do it. Not sure how any pressure might have been brought too bear, but Glock losing 28secs on the last rainy lap after losing just 4 secs on the penultimate rainy lap doesn't ring true to me.

Not many times in the sporting arena I want to hug German, but well done Glock! Enjoyed this last season apart from some dodgey FIA desicions and ruleings. Its very easy in life and in sport to critisize and knock people - The Press do it far too often. So it is great to be able to say - Well done Hamilton! - First of many I hope.

Well done Lewis

I wouldn't say it was a stunning WDC victory, but he did have to deal with some pretty stupid penalties.

He was defo a more worthy champion than Massa who only ever performed well when at the front, any other time he was lacklustre and in the wet he was positively hopeless, but that was partly due to the poor wet weather performance of the Ferrari.

Where as Lewis made the season entertaining by fighting for most of his points.

Any talk of unfair play and fixing by McLaren with regards to Glock is just ridiculous.

He and Trulli took a chance on staying out on dry tyres as they had nothing to loose and it didn't pay off.

Both Glock and Trulli put in similar slow times on the last lap, if that was all fixed by McLaren to make it more convincing then they deserve the WDC title for being SO inventive at such short notice.

Are we they only 2 people thinking that? When he over took him I didnt see Glock slide, his car looked totally in control he just lifted off & let him past. If he was all over the place struggling to get the power down then maybe i'd believe it. Is there money changing hands between Mclaren & Glock? Maybe one day we will find out, maybe we wont.

Just to perfect, I cant believe no one in the media is questioning it. Or have they been paid aswell!

Do you not think Ferrari, err I mean the FIA, would be looking for any excuse possible to change the result if they beleived it was a fix. Given how Trulli was struggling in the wet earlier, and the fact both Toyotas were very slow on the last lap, its a quite plausable result. With the little they showed of Glock in the final stages its impossible to say how his car was handling. All I recall was seeing him running slow and wide when he was overtaken.

Toyota already have the biggest budget of all the F1 Constructors, so being 'bought off' isn't really going to be an issue.

Can't see it as anything more simple than slick tyres in the wet don't work.

I dunno. I can imagine the frantic calls to the Toyota garage. We'll share technology, We'll take Glock on next year for the nice but useless Kovaleinen, we'll sleep with you etc etc.

It really is suss as he slowed in section 3 which should only take 20 or so seconds all in and he more than doubled that time, yet was just as quick the previous lap and in sections 1 and 2 of that lap.

Personally I don't think he deserved it but was a better choice than Massa, especially after they booed him and his dad etc.

I recon it was raining pretty hard. Look at the start. Some shots didn't realy pick up the rain, but others looked like bucket fulls coming down, and see how quickly the track got wet - but only in parts. Its quite possible the track conditions did change quite dramatically between the last 2 laps. Also, given the Toyota teams need for points to justufy there budget, I can't see them wanting to give a fourth position away for anything. They gambled on tyres to try to gain points.

Regardless, Lewis should have had the title 2 weeks ago if it wasnt for some rather bizare rule making, so this was a bit of justice at last!

it did seem very very strange about glock, but then again, every onther person on the grid was trying to f##k over the lewis, so he is allowed 1 friend out of 15, and its just fitting he was in the right place at the right time

Did any of you not see Glocks car snaking up the hill on the last lap ?

Not seen his car on that lap but he was definatly out of shape - Vettel was superb, watch out for him if he makes it to the top flight motors !

From what Mclaren said they told him to keep racing Glock as well as they knew he was slow - I think Lewis done well to keep his head, poor chap !

Also why isn't anyone going on about how much faster Kubica was when he mullered past Vettel and Hamilton on the lap previous.

I wouldn't put t past the fact Glock slowed down but there were fast and slow cars on the circuit.

Well done Lewis a worthy champion.

According to the times this morning both Toyota's ( on slicks) had similar increasing lap times toward the end of the race, the view was that Lewis let Vettel thru so he (Vettel) did'nt try to make a risky pass which could have taken both drivers out. Remember Vettels car is powered by a ferrari engine. The paper reckoned that the team had worked out that the rate the Toyota's where slowing down that Lewis would catch up and overtake to gain 5th place, be it on the last lap. Very risky call, but it worked and the alternative appeared to be of an even great risk.

Well done Lewis well deserved and best of all..........................Ferrari lost ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ! I i wonder how Ferrari twisted and connived to see if they could over turn the decision but NO they still lost ! And would have lost the constructors if they hadn't invented fictitious events cheating barstewards what goes round etc etc again ha ha ha ha ha ha !

I was watching the live timing and scoring over the internet and Glock was the quickest car for a couple of laps after the leaders changed to intermediates but slowed over the last two laps and Trulli was slowest of all the cars on the last laps, some 4 seconds slower than Glock, I think.

I don't think a fix could have been arranged so quickly and kept quiet. No way.

Felt sorry for Massa at the end but I think Hamilton had already done enough and had been robbed of his Belgian win unjustly.
