918 valve parts unique ?

Recommended Posts

is there any information in the community, as i cant find an direct match. No valve-guide parts with A [or B]918****** at 'SJ-page' listed . Pam has sold all valve-guides. Mike had no new informations about the old parts from Mike Haynes racing in his old engine. Therefore nothing cheap and simple is available... .

sintered valve guides with 11.01mm diameter are extremely rare. Especially with an length of 43mm !!

And by the way: are those Nimonic exhaust valves also an special creation. Valves with that dimensions bud an 6mm stem are not typical.

Any thoughts ?

I'm not in a rush, bud it's best to start early with a collection of parts - what do you think !? :)

R&B offered me some used valves too, bud none can offer valveguides now ? Even SJ does not have any for the 918 in the parts list, just curious -that's why i ask..

Pam told me that she had sold the guides, bud not who had them now (it was a lot of guides in those plastic bag..)

Inlet : chrome-silizium steel, 33.5mm head - chrome plated stem [exact diameter is 5.93-5.95mm] for colets with 3 rips, first rip around 8mm from top , overall length is something with around 170mm .

Exhaust: *NIMONIC 80* high temperature steel, also chrome plated silicium , 30mm head -stem[exact diameter is 5.93-5.95mm] for collets with 3 rips, first rip is around 8mm from top, overall length is around 163mm.

Can measure the exact dimensions this weekend... .

did they say what type, and was it to big outside or in ? The problem with the guides is that Lotus fitted extremely rare sintered items.
