Tony K
Didn't AUDI stand for Accelerates Unintentionally, Disaster Inevitable? In America, we say it stands for "Accelerates Under Demonic Influence" -- reference to the "sudden unintended acceleration" PR fiasco. BMW = Bought My Wife Volvo = Very Odd Looking Vehicular Object Hyundai = Hope You Understand Nothing's Drivable And Inexpensive Toyota = Too Often Yankees Overprice This Automobile SAAB = Sitting Almost Always Broken FIAT = Failed Italian Automotive Technology My wife and I were just talking about these acronyms today. She asked me if there was one for Lancia. I said I never heard of one; not enough people [in the States] know what it is. So she came up with: Lancia = Little Automobile Nobody Can Identify Anyways . . . . . . . or: Lonely Abandoned Neglected Cars Italians Assembled . . . and I came up with: Look, Another Noisy Crappy Italian Automobile (said in good fun, as I really like Lancias! ) And she also likes Smart Cars, so she came up with: Smart = Small Mercedes Appliance, Really Tiny! . . . . . or: Smile, My Automobile Runs, Too! . . . . . and mine was: Silly Miniscule Automoble, Really Toylike!
