Gold FFM mayevora Posted December 31, 2008 Gold FFM Report Share Posted December 31, 2008 BBQ so hope it doesn't get too chilly with 17 staying over from Bristol. Geting together with the usuial crowd that we have done for the past 20 odd years. Our turn to put everybody up this year, so going to be a squeeze on the sleeping side - thats if I actually make it to the sleeping bit. (Ever tried trying to buy BBQ coals for New Year before? (in the UK) - Not too many shops stocking it surprizeingly!) Quote Always do sober what you said you'd do drunk - that will teach us to keep mouth shut! Paul C
The landlord of my local is also a friend of ours. He does not open new years eve. Because it's a private, invite only, party! All the other pubs are rammed full of pissed up people that don't know each other and don't normally drink, whereas ours is not rammed, just full of locals, family, and some bands playing. Lots of nice food too. At midnight it's also the landlords birthday, which is the main reason he does not open to the public, makes it stress free as he'll have a few himself later on. The 'evening' normally ends the next morning when the cleaner turns up. Last year it was to find the last people, on a pew outside, in the daylight, having a last whiskey for the road at about 5.30am... Look forward to it all year. Have a good night out/in tonight everyone!

Paul C
Just mentioned my ale collection on another thread. Now i swear i can hear them calling me, but i have sworn to myself i will drink nothing until i enter the pub this evening. It's like sirens it is, all the lovely seasonal brews i have there. I love the ale rack. Brewerys have seasonal beers all year round so it's never the same and if you find one seasonal you like, you have to get it while it's there. At the moment for me it's Badger brewery's 'Poacher's Choice' a nice dark one, too strong to be a mild and with a great liquorice and fruity aftertaste. Should i, or should i not? Advantage
Louise and her Mum are downstairs in the kitchen preparing a turkey the size of a pterodactyl for the evening/night time meal. (I've already alerted my stomach to prepare for a work out). The champagne is chilling nicely, the beer is about to be opened and my daughter is about to thrash me at Wii snowboarding. All good. Have fun everyone and enjoy your New Year.
Vulcan Grey
My Brother and his family are in town, so we went snowboarding yesterday. He lives all over the world, (Moscow, Vladivostok, Kazakhstan, Guatemala) so I don't often get to see him. Then tonight for NYE my friend from Seattle is in town with his girlfriend. So a bunch of us, ~10, are going out to dinner in Denver, and then to a Night Club where our friends are the DJ's. And then I have a hotel room a short shuttle ride away from the club for me and the gorgeous girl that I just started dating, so I don't have to drive home. Oh and I have the rest of this week off, the 2nd of 2 weeks off from work! Quote Travis Vulcan Grey 89SE
