Sorry to read that Pete.

It does hurt and words are just useless.

I lost my father to cancer 11 years ago and whilst time is a great healer, I still miss him.

Chin up,

Graham

I'm very sorry to hear the news of your father's passing, Peter. I lost my mother over 14 years ago, and well know what the loss of a parent means at a personal level. It's a life event we all must endure. There are no simple remedies. I wish I could tell you that there were. As mentioned above, "time does heal," but it will never fully erase the pain. There will always be a hole in your life that cannot be completely filled. My remarks are not intended to increase an already stressful time in your life, only to keep things at a realistic level. What I can tell you is that it helps a great deal to focus on remembrances of the good times, the recollection of shared experiences of father and son, mother and son, that defined the bonds between you. That relationship can never be taken from you. Whatever time on this earth that was granted for you to spend with your father was a gift, for you and him. Treasure it always.

Sincere condolences,

John

Peter, there's so little any of us can say, you know you have my condolences along with those of the other members.

It doesn't really help you now, but at least your father is no longer suffering, and eventually that will give you some comfort. I've lost too many of the family to cancer to mention.

Andy

Sorry to hear the news, Peter. While you knew he didn't have long it was still sudden. The only respite is the knowledge is that he isn't sufferig anymore. I remember the day my father died from cancer even though it was 40 years ago. It teaches you that life has to go on. You still have your mother. Now you can give her the love you always did and the love you had for your father. Keep your chin up.

Sorry to hear that Pete, I can't imagine the pain you are going through. I am dreading this moment when it eventually happens to me. Hopefully your family and friends will unite and help ease the pain.

Pete, i am trying to prepare myself for what i know is going to happen this year with my father. I know that no matter how much you try, the pain will be overwelming. I really feel for you :getmecoat:

My families condolences to you Peter. We lost my mother and father in law to cancer, my mother to a heart condition all within 6 years. My father has told me recently that he has been diagnosed with asbestosis.

Never an easy time.

Our sympathies to you and yours.
