Guess who has a new Lotus!

Recommended Posts

Its the way of the future.

I think you're once bitten twice shy on the Esprit Kimbers, it was unfortunate that the one you bought turned out to be a problem for you and cost a fair whack of money to put right.

Financially the Exige is probably the better option, I was looking at Elise/Exige prices the other week and was suprised to see how little they had fallen and how much in demand they still are.

Thing is with the interest in the bank you're quite right, you might as well put it into something and get the enjoyment out of it !

I want a diddy car now hawww :welcome:

Welcome to the Elise / Exige club Kimbers. Looks good and very yellow :) . So the main question is are you brave enough to turn the traction control off :) .

I reckon the way things are going we should have and LEF Elise/ Exige meet this year sometime just for a bit of a laugh.

Hope you enjoy your new toy.

Are you going to join SELOC and become a computer nerd now?

No he won't,

He does not spend enough money on hair products or clap without question

and agree with anything his mates say online. He's not quite metrosexual

enough to fit in with those spikey topped chimps, and he knows it.

They're enough to put you off buying an elise!!!!

Wow Tony :) , what a great buy.

The car looks stunning mate, well done. :D

...and there I was thinking you were in the same league as me, someone who agonised over the cost of a new screwdriver. Geez, I tell you, I'm going out and buying it now!

Nice car Tony, I really like the Exige and Elise supercharged versions. So what year is it?

If I wasn't so big and could get in and out easier I would have one!

Sadly missus won't let me have one and keep the Esprit. I said that because she is on my insurance for all my cars that she come come out with me at the weekend in the two cars but she said that she wouldn't get in an Elise never mind drive one. She was't saying this because she doesn't like them it's more on principals because i grind her down too much about buying cars! There's also another car which Iam not suppose to mention on here that Iam looking at but again, missus wants shut of the my Esprit first.

Iam test driving some motors over the next week but Iam trying to keep my Esprit too. If the maths don't work out then I need to rethink.

So when do you pick it up?

Nice, I think I'm jealous, being as I'm only 5'4" it's better suites to me so I'll be nice and offer to swap. :D I don't want to think of you being cramped for space.

Well done Tony. Hope you have fun in it. Just looked on carsales over here and there is an Exige S in Perth with all sorts of options on it. $93,000! Hope you didn't pay that...

As for keeping your license. That is easy. Drive slowly. (yeah right...)

All we know is that when they stop making this, we will be properly, properly sad.Jeremy Clarkson on the Esprit.

Well I'm not giving away anything on the cost. Lets just say that on a 57 Plate (thats just a year old) it wasn't cheap. I'm having a few things done at the factory at present and it will be out as soon as I can get the money over there. Lets just say thatI had to take a loan but it's not as bad as I thought as I settled another loan, extended the period and only pay

It's a measure of how fast the car will accelerate from rest to 60mph! :D

0-60 is 3.9 seconds, 0-100 is just under 10.

Hi Tony,

Welcome to the little cars, on my second Elise now, not the head turner of an Esprit, but more usable with possibly more driver satisfaction.

Always wanted an Exige but would need to sell the old Esprit to justify, enjoy cheap motoring when compared to the Esprit.

Colin, it's not just the manic 0-60 time but the Torque figures per tonne are just amazing!

Only problem now is that I want one of these wings (as on the new Exige S)

That looks a stonking car, especially with the wing. (Do like the white as well)

Kimbers, are you going to start the 'sweep' competition on after delivery, how long it takes before you are chating to Norfolks finnest? :D
