rogerch
No that'll happen when it gets to Glasgow, just over the border in Scotland where all adversaries are addressed as Jimi probably even the camera itself. It's the only place I've ever been where they have steel bars on the bus windows, I'm unable to tell you if these are to prevent incursion or escape! Iconic Ride
"...where all adversaries are addressed as Jimi..." Isn't this the part where the dummy colonial asks, "Why 'Jimi'?," and Laura jumps in and gives her usual erudite historical explanation? Quote Being second is to be the first of the ones who lose. rogerch
I think it dates back to first Scotsman to receive a pair of glasses on the NHS, when he exclaimed "I see youoo Jimi", to the optician, one James Callaghan, promptly thumping him and doing a "Runner", not realising the glasses were in fact free! paulwendling
I've been lucky to have both my Esprits pictures taken by GoogleEarth..... My wife's 94S4 (with 2002 taillight conversion) And this one is really funny, because it couldn't be a better snapshot of what it means to be an Esprit owner...... me, leaning over the back of my black 85TE replacing a broken cambelt, and I know exactly when this pic was taken as I had a whiteboard over the exposed engine to prevent leaves, bugs, and such from falling into the exposed pistons and oil/water galleries

paulwendling
great news they have missed my street, total wast of resources and bloody nosey if you ask me Just curious, but how is a private company, using their own money to create a useful product, which generates income for them, wasting resources? There are constantly times I have to go on movie production, and the people giving me directions to location have been on GoogleEarth with me, and it's great if you can use the street view, and say, "Ok, now, just past that green house, do you see the dirt lane?... turn down that one, and we will be filming just a little past that old Oak tree where the field opens up...." Also, one of my hobbies is to go desert prospecting, and GoogleEarth is where I go to to make and plan our excursions... the photos enable you to see potential areas of interesting geologic activity for rockhounding in. As to being "bloody nosey", do you think that of everybody who walks down your street sidewalk, and happen to see your front yard and house, or take a pic of the neighborhood because it is pretty? I have seen people take pictures of my house, but it's because we have an historic Pasadena Greene Brothers house. I don't get upset... it was me who decided to move into a home that other people happen to be interested in. If I wanted my privacy, I do whatever I do behind the gate..... I can't get upset if I'm in my front yard where everybody can see me I can see it being nosey if it were being used by law enforcement to pry into your private doings as you come and go, or use those pole mounted cameras to track your activities, with real time video so what you see is actually relevant to real life, but a dated static photo of a street view? Have you ever taken a photo whilst on holiday of St Paul's cathedral, or other random street view, does that make you nosey if you use that picture to show your friends where you were? Don't get me wrong, I'm also totally against privacy invasion, speed cameras, red light cameras, remote police monitoring, etc..., but I think that photos taken from the street as the car drives by is not really privacy invasion... Also, the time relevance factor you should take into account as well..... That aerial photo of me pulling my Esprit engine is many years old now... it has no relevance in my life today........ Sorry for the rant, just trying to show that GoogleEarth street view can be useful................... Paul

esprit350
ok I live in a private cul de sac only people that have a legitimate reason for being there come down it, google can do what it wants with their money, I just feel it is wasteful and its still nosey, i have enough problems with google monitoring my search habits and then directing advertising to me...... paulwendling
Yeah, I see the point about Google's directed advertising if it causes you to receive unsolicited spam..... I must be lucky, haven't had any of that happen to me yet..... Yes, that's my real address....... Of course, that address is also posted in every Hollywood Industry resource book as that is my home office location for my special effects/ production company "Art Models and Props Inc" Paul
Gold FFM mayevora Posted March 11, 2010 Gold FFM Report Share Posted March 11, 2010 Google Street view doesn't seem to like alot of cul-de-sacs - passes them by for some reason or maybe its just because its all new and taking time to photograph each and every street and obviously doing the main roads first. Al
I saw the Astra estate with camera periscope too. Stupid looking thing. Did our village last April/May or so. Pre my Lotus days, and post Porsche, so only the my wifes Chelsea tractor in the drive. Scarily sharp and detailed though I thought. Anyway reason for post is how do you save a picture in from Street view. I was trying but couldn't do anything other than print it or do a Print Screen. Quote A LEGS man and proud to declare it! Rick Edwards
If only we could find some plan of the route of where they are going we could try and get the same car in every road / town they visited. Or a placard with "Join TLF" on it or something. I know they blank out some phone numbers as they did on the sign above my business but some kind of stunt must be possible.
